Like another poster said earlier, most high school coaches already know you they want for the team since like sixth grade. It's really crapshoot unless your talent is undeniable.

yea, the crazy thing is I was a natural beast at football. Like my first year playing i was literally like a top 3 player on the team.

But i was never really into football, i wanted to live my hoop dreams(half assed) and look where it got me :damn:

Same here, I wanted to live that hoop dream( loved Jordan and Reggie Miller), I moved from another country so basketball was the easiest American sport to grasp, but I wish I would of focused on American football or baseball more.
I just hated getting my ass hit in football I took everything personal, if I knew what I knew now.

Lombardi Trophies in Allen Park
In AAU and we had the best team in the area and then we played this team from Charlotte. Every other play was an 'oop and the dude I was checkin dropped 35 on me. Hard reality check.

We had something like that happen. Mufukkas on my team were asking the other team to do oops. :beli: I was an athlete playing basketball. I learned in 10th grade.

When I was walk-on for Purdue University and realized that I was used as practice fodder for the mens and women's basketball team:to:.

Plus Carl Landry and David Teague were just on another level
Double.

I learned in freshman year in high school, i was probably the best athlete on my team(probably why we sucked..) We played this one team and they had a guy who could do everything i could do on the court... But better. Only difference was he was 6-6... and i was 5-11..

About 14 years old when I went to St Johns U basketball camp for the 1st time. My best position at the time was SF/PF and I learned there I was never gonna grow close to tall enough to being one past the high school level if even there. Day 1 I had to play the point. I still remember how akward it felt having the ball in my hands that much for the first time. I was a banger/stretch 4 type, I aint know how to run an offense lol!

As a HS freshman on varsity when I saw Norman Marbury (Steph's big brother) bust our ass! And we had Lance Stephenson SR. who was the star, shaking his head like:ohhh:

Next year I realized D1 college wasn't in the plans either when a certain retired NBA player ( who was in college at the time) cracked me in a summer tourney in Harlem.

Concentrated on baseball and boxing shortly after.

Yeah :flabbynsick:

Grady?

I went to Christ the King HS as a freshman and the year i went there were some future pros and college stars, i went to gym for a shoot around and i was destroyed, there was a white player named Frankie who was in my gym class that was just a sick athlete, i mean sick, when we ran distance i was good, real good but this guy was flying pass me in the 2 mile run like it was nothing and i finished in under 10 mins and i blown away, i knew then i had no shot.
