When you see shyt like that technical on Stephen Jackson yesterday when the Spurs were making a little run, or these subjective convenient charging calls, it's SO easy to question it.

This dude at work brought it up to me (so I know ppl are discussing it). And we were just thinking about how the only two teams with those 'sitting in the rafters discussing banners' commercials are the only two teams to both come back from down 0-2 in the playoffs in the Conference Finals.

shyt just looks shady.

4th qtr last night was pretty bad. That 2nd offensive foul on Manu when Leonard hit the 3.

LOL at Perkins coming into the game and immediately committing like 5 illegal screens. Meanwhile somebody runs into Duncan and its going the other way.

When some of the worse officiated games youve ever seen Lakers v Kings game 6, Miami v Dallas i think that was game 5 leave you like

then the feds come out a few years later and investigate those same games???

The games you mentioned, right along with game 3 of the Suns v Spurs in '07 are the worst officiated games I've ever seen.

The NBA is rigged because the refs have always been betting on games but after Donaghy Stern caught wind and told them lemme get a piece of the pie or I'm tellin and firin your ass.

It's not fixed.

Superstars get a lot of calls, that's always been a part of the NBA but it is now compounded with referees that are terrible.

The NBA would rather run away from their officiating problem than spend time working on it to increase their efficiency. They hand out hefty fines when you question the officiating so that less people will discuss it openly.

There's definitely funny business that goes on with the officiating. It's hilarious how a long-time ref got exposed, decided to come clean and talk about the unscrupulous practices and traditions that have been in place for years, and Stern just dismissed him, claimed it was a "rogue" official and none of the others were doing anything like that and it pretty much just got successfully swept under the rug.

I think it has less to do with some huge league-wide conspiracy and more to do with the refs themselves on a smaller level. So its not "Emperor Stern says the hometeam goes down in 6" but more "Hey guys, lets make an irresponsible and irrelevant personal bet just for fun on which official can foul a guy out in this game first" or "hey isn't this player getting on your nerves? Let's send a message to him tonight and if it costs his team the game, so be it." It's insane how the officials have almost no one regulating their behavior, keeping them in check, making sure everything stays "official", so to speak, especially for how much they're able to effect outcomes of games. I also doubt very much that Tim Donaghy was the only one that ever bet on games and got involved with the mob and all that. He's just the only one that got caught.

QFT. I def think the refs get a kick out of manipulating gamed. Refs hate for Cuban always whining about them costs them in 2006. What better way to get him than cost him a title by calling crazy fouls on the Macs to give Wade all those fts.

Refs can be total trash at times but I don't believe Stern is out there fixing games and demanding certain results.

I know the supposed mob guy that was forcing donaghy to do that

He was a really small time suburban bookie, hardly a big mobster. I find it hard to believe that the scandal has much more to it than donaghy paying back debts because he's a degenerate gambler.


I think the biggest scandals in the nba will never be public because the people doing it are too smart. I think it stinks from the head and stern is in bed with big time Vegas people.
