(Birds Defense shuts down Goff and Lions as Eagles win their 4th Straight and move to 8-2)
(Dan Campbell faces criticism as the Lions were 0-5 on 4th Down and were held to their lowest points of the season)
(Lions become the first team this season to stop the Eagles on Consecutive Tush Pushes. They were also one of the teams who voted not to ban the play)
*The Philadelphia Eagles are 8-2 for the 2nd season in the row. They win their 3rd Straight game against the Lions and lead the All Time Series 19-16. The Eagles are now 11-0 Vs the NFC North since 2021 and are 24-3 over their last 27 games. They remain the #1 Seed in the NFC through 11 weeks.
*I DIDN'T WALK THROUGH THE FIRE JUST TO SMELL SMOKE: Jalen Hurts continues his historic run as he is now 22-2 over his last 24 starts which leads the NFL.
*DANGEROUS D: Eagles Defense once again had a amazing performance holding another team to under 10 points for back to back weeks. The Lions Offense scored their lowest points in over 3 years as they have scored Double Digits in 40 straight games. Cooper had a Pick, Jalen and Jordan has several batted passes. Jaelan once against was all over the field. The Pressure had Goff in trouble all game.
*SOME TEAMS ARE WAITING TO LOSE, WE ARE WAITING TO WIN: Nick Sirianni becomes the first coach in NFL History to start with 8 wins or better 4 times in his first 5 seasons.
*VIC'S VINDIATION: After questions at the start of the season, Vic Fangio has the Defense playing a high level deep into the season
*OFFENSIVE OBSTICLES: Eagles score under 20 points for the 2nd straight game. AJ got more involved, Saquon almost had 100 yards again. But Devonta and Goedert didn't have the most catches this game. There were also a lot of uncharacteristic drops. Lane Johnson went out so that definitely effected the line.
*PAINFUL PATULLO: For the 2nd straight week, the play calling just seem out of sorts and not creative enough. Yes weather and both Defenses played a role but KP needs to be better,
*AS THE NFC BEAST TURNS: The Boys break their losing streak and beat down the Raiders in Vegas. They had a tragic week losing Teammate Marshawn Kneeland during the bye week. They are still in 2nd place at move up to 4-5-1. Washington loses their 6th straight game over in Spain against the Dolphins. Jayden Daniels is still injuried and they fall to 3-8. The GMen played their 1st game without Coach Brian Daboll with Famous Jameis starting. They lose their 5th straight in a close game to the Packers and fall to 2-9. The Eagles still have a commanding lead and are in 1st place at 8-2.
Just like last week with the Packers, another Defensive Battle, give that Lions D credit. They really played well. Lions Offense? Not so much. Eagles Defense just took over for the 2nd straight games. Packers 7 points, Lions 9 points in back to back weeks was not on my bingo card. This was such a dominating performances that the Eagles Offense only scoring 10 and 16 basically didn't have an effect on the outcome. Goff look really flustered out there and the Lions O just couldn't get going. Y'all already know I'm done giving KP any passes, he's had 10 games to get this things in order. With that said, I do think Weather played a factor in both Greenbay and in Philly. I also think these were the two of the best Defenses we faced this season outside of the Broncos.
They got AJ more involved but Smitty and Goedert didn't have much impact. I think Saquon 83 yards was solid so that 3 straight good game from him. I think we are getting closer but this is a situation where Defending a Title is very difficult so playing these teams going all out takes a toll. But the Eagles came out of this fire beating the NFC top teams. They are 8-2 and the #1 Seed right now. Could the offense look better? Of course but all this considered, can we really complain? This team has done nothing but win every which way for over 14 months. They've won by the Defense, they won by the Running game, they won by the passing game, they won by the Special teams. They are just a complete team. I'm not worried because everyone is giving us their best shot. Yes the last call on AJ was weak and ticky tack. The Refs haven't been the best this season but I wasn't worried and believed the D would have handled Goff there.
The NFC Playoffs is really taking shape. Someone will probably have a good record and miss playoffs due to competition. 7 more weeks to go. Like last year, people are running out time to say, "The Eagles need to win this way or that way". Well next week we head to Jerry World in the Undefeated Kelly Greens. Cowboys will play us hard because they are our nemesis. Dak also have a great record at home vs the Division. Of course they need to take care of business but this Cowboys Week doesn't have the same feeling because the Eagles are so far ahead. Honestly the Division can be locked up by early December regardless of this game but they still need to win it. With Lane's injury the Eagles will need this bye week and they are track. Seattle and Darnold got exposed a little (4 Picks in one game? Damn) but they are still a good team. Rams are still gunning for us but we have the tiebreaker. The NFC North are all fighting each other. We don't play 49ers or Carolina. Already beat the Bucs also. So the Eagles magic number is really 2 more wins for the Division. I don't see the Boys getting to double digits (They would have to go 6-1 with Eagles, Chiefs, Lions next). The Conference seems like 13 wins will win it. But I think these were two really gritty wins against two of the best teams in the Conference.
