and, yall really trust these White folks giving us reparations..?

It's hilarious to me because people here are acting like it's going to happen and thinking they can hold political people hostage if they don't do it. I remember seeing posts from people saying "when we get our reparations" lolololol.and, yall really trust these White folks giving us reparations..?
they aren't giving anything, its owed. They won't pay because they want to, they will pay because they have toand, yall really trust these White folks giving us reparations..?

You can't win a fight hoping you win, you gotta go fight
Only people who don't study history, and realize things are fought for, not given, don't see it. If they did, they wouldn't be so quick to say reparations won't happen.
You know why you don't work all day, everyday? "Labor wars". You know why you can live where you want? Civil rights movement. You know why you don't have to wait until you're married to have sex? hippie movement. Even something like hip hop, I remember when people used to laugh at rap music. Older people asking me when am I gonna grow up , and stop listening to rap. Now, the shyt is being done all over the world. Even the dressing was laughed at, only to be copied by major brands.
Get the picture? But you probably still gonna argue with me anyway. Just open ya mind. I seen all types of shyt happen that people said it never would. They were wrong, and the world moved on, now they look like old fools.
which episode was this from???
couldn't put it any better!Cacs are truly the devils
Being racist is not the same thing as paying a debt owedThis is the same idea behind forcing them not to be racist, how did that work out for us? The people "forcing" them are just as white/racist and will determine a "fair" amount. Ha! Good luck with all of that. The fact that people still think white people will do right by us is crazy to me.
Being racist is not the same thing as paying a debt owed
You could be racists, and still pay your debt, they are two different things
And you are assuming blacks are not part of the process! lol Yall really think we are little children waiting for Daddy to give us our money? NO, you make your case with proof, get people to follow your movement, and FORCE things to change. Did yall pay attention to what happened in the 60's, at least?! Look at today, You have GAY people getting married, and kissing on tv, you really think reparations is that hard to get after gays getting what they want? It's sad if you think so low of your people, and their abilities.
It's crazy how the world changes around certain people, but they never see it, or experience it. I remember in 2001 when weed was talked about, and lawyers/politicians/media heads kept saying it would never be legal, decriminalization is the best we can get. Fast forward just 11 years, and weed became LEGAL in 1-2 states, and now its growing to more states. You know how this happened? Arguments of how it is causing the locking up of too many black people, destroying lives with stupid laws, and using medical studies to prove its not as dangerous as the lies told(which was started to hurt black & mexican men in the 1930's) then the minds of the people changed.
Yall need to open yall minds. You have proof things change, why not help it change for things YOU want. Why sit back, and let others get their dreams, and you just keep saying "it can't happen"? shyt is corny to me, especially knowing our history as black people in this country. We were told nonstop nothing we do will work, yet we are still here, and making moves UNDER a system trying to stop us. It's only because a few see, while too many of us just gave up, and making it hard for all of us with their negativity. Thank god we have the internet to connect those who believe, and separate from those who don't.
But the fight for reparations is not just a check, it's also about programs. While I agree conditions are certainly more favorable for black people overall in comparison to the 60's, there are plenty of aspects, especially within our social and community demographics that have not changed and WILL not change, unless we do the changing.
Black people's story and dynamic is so different and in some cases beyond repair, that you can never compare it other stories. I truly believe if an influential, gay, black person had to choose between fighting for additional gay rights and reparations for black people, they would align with gay rights. I honestly don't feel we have the buy in, influence or power to fight for reparations, although I agree they are owed to us. I feel there are smarter ways to move within the system that could financially benefit us more quickly than reparations ever will.
So yeah, fight for reparations, but don't make it the end all be all of our success as a community.
