When The fukk Did School Start Ending In June, And Why?

At least yall didnt have year round schooling. My elementary years, school ended last week of May and started first week September.

Middle school came, dumbass state of Hawaii implemented a new school schedule cuz they felt summers were too long and kids werent remembering what they were taught.

So they changed it from ending late May and starting school late July. Basically 2 months of summer. But we had a week off in October, 3 weeks of chritmas break, and 2 week of spring break. shyt was terrible.

I did this shyt for one year in elementary school and was over it. It sounds good when they explain you get more breaks, but shorter summer/winter but then you going to school while your friends sleeping in and playing smackdown shut your mouth and shyt

School has always ended in June in the Northeast and West Coast. It's because in the 19th century/early 20th century when the south was more rural, folks from the densely-populated northern cities would go down south to escape the heat in August, and so they pushed the school calendar back to September-June for them.

Ended in June in the Midwest too. Or least where I am.

The year I moved from NY to Georgia I had a short ass summer because of the differences. School ended at the end of June, we moved to Georgia in July, and then school started first week of August

Growing up public schools got out in early June and went back after Labor Day. Catholic schools would get out and start a month earlier.
