When we talk about Jays greatness we never really bring up Vol 2.

Need some receipts for this claim.

That album sold extremely well, the tour was HUGE, and there's a lot of undeniable classics on the album.

Quote my whole post.

Most people hate that album. Personally it's one of my favorites.:manny:

Actually, now that I think about it, the internet is the only place I've seen people hate on the album. In real life this album was huge, everyone fukked with it.

Google search will provide you what you need.

Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, The Black Album, American Gangster, Watch The Throne. Those are the Hov standards. Vol 2 gets left off but that's prolly his most iconic album. and the Annie joint his most iconic song and video.

Listening to the annie joint again the writing and flow on that is effortless.

Money cash hoes, nikka what nikka, a week ago, which are the other perfect songs on vol 2. No other joints on there approach the greatness of those 4 songs. But they still solid songs like it's alright, can I get a, reservoir dogs, it's like that.

reservoir dogs is essential

This was back before nikkas gassed Jay up and told him how nice he was, gassed him up and told him he was the god of different flows:scust:?pre whisper flow:wow:

That was Jay at his best,no one was hurt worse from buying into their hype like Jay:mjcry:

He really is the Mike Jordan, the Mike Tyson and Mike Jackson of the mic recording:mjcry:

We dont talk about how good BP2 is either, had alot of highlights on it and it should be Jays blueprint for his next album....its really the only thing that could interest people outside of his name alone.

Jay was at his best when he was bay area/cali influenced:banderas:

The Coli is fully of swagless lames who aren't music fans.

Vol 2 changed everything for Jay. and anyone who was around at that time witnessed it. I'm sure my stalkers will run in here rambling some inconsistent space shyt but let's just say "Can I Get A" made me a Jay fan when I was lukewarm on him prior.

I heard how dope Vol 2 was for the first time this morning :troll:
stalker desperation :mjlol:

This nikka was in Saudi Arabia buttfukking jafar when Vol 2 dropped:laff:

Hov probably sampled Mya on that album huh tochi:laff:

I first heard "aint no nikka" and loved vol.1

vol.2 was damn good but It didn't have a "who you wit pt2" or "lucky me'

I still play vol.1 all the time...vol.2 I haven't listened to in years...its 1998 in a bottle

I bought into the narrative that Vol 2. aged bad until I revisited...just like with Get Rich or Die Trying..its just too many jams and iconic moments to not be enjoyable.

In general I don't like that sound and Swizz Beatz era but maybe I do have to go back and listen to it again. I dont think I've listened to it in a good 10 years if not more.

Of course there's classics on there and I don't think it's his worst album but I think if you weren't there at that time to see what it did for Jay then you couldn't pick it up now and think it was a classic in the same vein as BP or RD.
