Every championship team has help.
None of the players you guys want to prop up have ever won anything by themselves. Absolutely none of them. Magic had help. Bird had help. Jordan had help. Shaq had help. Kobe had help. Lebron had help. Curry had help. Tim had help too.

Tim was the foundation upon which the Spurs built a 20+ year stretch of winning basketball. That's the legacy of his career.
Whatever you're attempting with this thread is pathetic.

He was still averaging 23 in 86. FMVP is all about matchups & opportunity.

I gotta use stats because I didnt see either play, but even people who saw them play say it was Magic driving that bus...

Beginning in 1981-82, Magic starts dominating all the impact metrics between them. Obviously ppg isn't a strong indicator of who the best player on a team is, because other guys like Kidd have also led teams they were the best player on without being the high scorer...

Their first two years together was 79-81, Kareem was still leading impact metrics, but after that, the last 8 years together brought four chips and it's all Magic:

80 (champs)
Magic:
Cap: PER, OWS, DWS, WS, WS48 (MVP)

81
Magic: PER
Cap: OWS, DWS, WS, WS48 (3rd place MVP)

Magic and Kareem were Kobe and Shaq in reverse---->I actually saw their run so I don't need the stats to make a case, but the metrics underscore that Shaq was the man until the last two years they were together:

Shaq: PER, OWS, DWS, WS, WS48

Nobody affirms that, though, when you talk to people who actually watched them. This is the first time I'm hearing anybody even say that Showtime was Cap in the 1 spot, and for people who didn't watch them like myself, the numbers don't back that up...

Watching old games or video, it's easy to find games both dominated. I dont have time to watch all 82 games from every year, but in most games it does appear Magic was controlling shyt...

Are the Spurs a system? Yes

Do the Spurs create their System without Duncan? Not a chance in fukking hell.

And really, their system wasn’t even very good at first.

Early on they heavily relied on “give it to Timmy in the post and hope he does something with it”. Later on their system developed and helped Duncan prolong his career (along with cleverly managing his minutes), but Duncan was far from a “system player”.
