I never understood this. My mother will say stuff like "You don't know what God has for you".

I was raised Christian, Catholic actually. I believe in a God but I battle the concept of a "Christian" God.

So I don't subscribe to the Southern Baptist / Evangelical Christian mindset many Blacks share in the US. I always felt God/The Universe/Whatever imbues you with powers to make change. Not doing anything and being passive is the wrong approach.

Christianity was just a tool used to colonization easier for Europeans.


1. Introduce Christianity to Natives
2. Teach them that it's okay to forgive their oppressors
3. European Christians then begin to steal, enslave etc the Natives
4. Meanwhile the Natives fight amongst themselves

6. Congrats now the Europeans now own your land and people.
