Life is absurd. Lean into it.
That's low-key what I'm saying. Every single imperialist country ends up stretching itself thin at some point, US is just the latest to do so. Problem is once you go that route it's harder to get out and extract yourself from all the stuff you've gotten yourself into. China doesn't seem to have much interest in going that route, what would they gain? They already are a top economic power and are focused on consolidating their interior. They know they can't compete -yet?- with the US's Top Dog status. Seems to me that as things are now they are getting what they want from the world -money, ressources and influence- without having to move troops like that.
I will say China knows and just has to play the long game. US operates on 4 year cycles.. US playing chess, China playing Go.
