Sure Detroit has had artists like Slum Village and Slim Shady to have success in the past, but quietly the D is producing a ton of talent with their own distinct sound at the moment.

Sure some of the artists to receive some shine have either been 1 hit wonders(Cash Kidd; Icewear) or are dead(Dex Osama), but there is some legit talent in Detroit particularly with Doughboyz Cashout(Payroll, Quis, and HBK Kid).

I'm from Detroit and it's never going to blow up if you expect the cats that you listed to be the torch bearers :scust: I truly HATE that sound that they all do and it has all the kids here trying to imitate them by sound and dress. Detroit used to be unique within the scene but now it's straight garbage except for a few cats. I went to a showcase last week and EVERY damn act sounded the same and to make it worse the chick who was hosting it was offering a prize of 200 to the best act and EVERYONE of them fukkers thought they deserved it :martin: I didn't even stick around to see who got it because I just knew the stupidity was going to lead to :bustback:

Sidenote this dude Cash Kidd can go in :leon:

Sure alot of Detroit acts are doing the same sound, but Dex had next and DBC got legit hits though. When everyone and their mama are doing trap or trying to sound like Drake, it's refreshing to hear a region with their own sound.

No the hell Dex didn't :beli:...only thing I will give him is that he did at least pay homage to the ol' school by rapping over classic beats but dude had ZERO lyrical ability...you could tell he freestyled EVERY thing he did. And what HITS do DBCO have :martin: and I'm not calling them garbage cause I have bangs some of their work but ALL that shyt sounds the same and they actually got WORSE when they got with Jeezy because I think all those :duck:that they had been spitting they actually started believing that shyt. Detroit streets already were bad as it is but now all these lil cats are killing for fake cartiers, gucci belts and fake jordans because of the excess that these wack rappers are spitting.
