When we stop beefing and hating on anybody that gets some real shine till then ain't go happen for the city as a whole

Came in to say that this is what seem to be holding y'all back. We got the same problem in Chicago's rap scene that's why it climaxed so fast. nikkas hate for a living in the Midwest:wow:

I dont know much about detroit music sceen besides Eminem, Big Sean, Danny Brown, Royce da 5'9, D-12, Trick Trick and Calicoe.

Only thing in common I find in MOST of them is lyricism but I can't say they got a peculiar sound that makes them DETROIT.

The west had their funk n their gang bangin' life style lyrics, The east coast had the boom bap dark beats n a lyrical style, the south had crunk n trap... All distinctive sounds, even chicago has drill... But what makes a detroit rapper detroit?

Detroit is just in a financial depression. Every region is biting that south sound... don't ask why Detroit is when NY and everywhere else is doing it. Detroit had Motown though which is arguably one of the greatest eras of music period. Can't really complain about that.
