Why is A-Boogie, A$AP Rocky, French Montana, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Don Q, Dave East, 6ix9ine, A$AP Ferg, Fabolous, etc. all successful. Why NY always got hits on the Billboards?

Not successful on the level Jay had.

In today's era Miami and Atlanta among other regions don't just dominate hip hop but even NY radio doesn't support it's new young artists the way they should.

It's like if you're a NY artist today you are lucky to even be a 1 hit wonder.

In the 90s we had Biggie, Jay, Nas, Mobb Deep, Wu Tang, DMX, LL, Pun, Mase, the Lox, Kim, Foxy.....the list goes on.

It's not the same today.

NY is probably the second biggest city in rap, but of course people wanted to compare the whole south and their 150 million people with NY's 8. Hiphop is spread out. Cats are from the DMV, Chi, Philly, NY, ATL, LA, NO, Mi, NJ, Houston and on. Which is a lot more reasonable.

Who is from Miami? Ross and Kodak, who else?

Rapsody = NC
Tyler = LA
Migos = ATL
Gambino = ATL
Travis Scott = TX
Uzi Very = Philly
Big Sean = Detroit
Cardi B = NY
Kendrick = LA
Drake = Canada
Chance = Chi
Designer = NY
Fat Joe and Remy = NY
Yachty = ATL
Kanye = Chi
Schoolboy = LA


It's pretty even among a couple of cities, that NY would have 80% when hiphop was new is just about hiphop coming from NY. Overweight on ATL but still no real domination in any city.
