Breh, the games have tons in common. I already went into detail why. But if you want a specific scene, here's one for you.
One of the greatest moments in gaming history; exciting, thrilling, and completely unexpected, and also the blueprint for the entire Gears gameplay style. Chaos happening all across the screen, bullets flying everywhere, people getting slaughtered left and right. The player even uses the cover system in that video, which, while not the very first cover system implemented in a videogame, still aids my point that the games are very similar in style, and the creator's comments speak for themselves if you care to look them up. Gears made its own innovations to the tps genre with its online co op, multiplayer, etc, which later went into RE5 and 6, widely considered the weakest Resident Evil games ever made. Uncharted took a heck of a lot from RE4 as well, you'd have to be blind not to see that. The entire end sequence of the game even has you fighting zombie mutant creatures that wouldn't be out of place in a RE game. Why you refuse to acknowledge RE4's influence on the Gears franchise is beyond me, but you can't ignore or change the facts, unless you want to deliberately be an ignorant ass gamer. Look, Gears of War 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I greatly enjoyed the third one as well, but let's not pretend that the games would exist if RE4 was never made.
