When will we see a black man dominate the tennis game?

Tennis is pretty easily accessible for anybody who wants to play. You can find a tennis court at plenty of high schools and plenty parks, and you're talking like buying a racket and tennis balls is any more expensive than copping a basketball or a football.

It may be accessible to find a court but its not if you actually want to learn how to play. 1st off you cant learn shyt by yourself like you can in basketball. You need a partner and you need someone to show you the proper technique of swinging the racket, applying spin, good footwork, strategy, etc..... Most of the tennis pro's have been playing and getting lessons since they were less than 10. What black kid you know is going to ask for a tennis racket, balls, and lessons as a 7 year old? Tennis is a sport you have to be pushed into at a young age, like golf.

Also a lot of tennis courts in black neighborhoods are used as general kids play areas for shyt like 4 square, , dodgeball, jumping rope, kick ball, basketball, etc..

I would give them more credit if the court was shorter and they had to actually run fast to get to the ball. But watching them jog to hit the ball really only proves my point

 you got got now you're being ridiculous acting like you're doing it all along :yayo:

Its a matter of time. We got Serena and Venus (who has fallen off). Serena is playing in the Wimbledon final Saturday. But on the men's side, it'll happen. Look up Gael Monfils. He was on a streak but got injured. He made it to top 10 I believe. Oh and for the dumb ass poster earlier, there is no "championship" for tennis dumb fukk.

This hasn't stopped plenty of Black kids (an Hipanic) from learning to box, and it has some of the same deterrents.

thats a terrible comparison.... like puerto rican gary status.

we're gonna act like all you truly need to learn how to box aren't your two fists?

a guy can get into a fistfight and get the best of someone, just cause he's naturally a better fighter... you aint doing shyt on a tennis court without proper training.

i dont think tennis is that athletic of a sport. i think the problem is that its just really intellectual more than athletic so top players are less like dominant athletes and more like grand master chess players at the elite level. so its not about being blake griffin its more about being bobby fischer. that takes years and years to intellectually hit that level so yeah access and culture are the problems not athleticism

Tennis is HARD. It's one thing to be able to hit the ball....but you have to hit in the exact spot on the racket and hit it in the proper direction to make it go where you want it. All while moving around.

I played it several times and other than serving, I sucked at every aspect.

False. There is a reason why tennis players tend to fall off by their early 30's (see venus williams)

This is sad to see, but this is a case of people ignorant of the sport they're commentating on. This is like when those white people who know nothing about basketball, think it's easy so long as you're tall.:stopitslime:

You guys need to have some damn humility and undersand that these guys learn the game as little ass kids for a reason. The fact is, if they're getting paid millions, it probably isn't as easy as you think. If not, go take up the sport and see for yourself (but you won't).:snoop:

You're right I won't because tennis is all about networking and who ya know. That's why you won't see a black man dominate cause only rich white boys with rich friends get to play regardless of how unathletic they are.

uh ok?

How could I get got for being right? Just cause you fools think jogging and hitting an almost weightless ball is hard work doesn't make me any less right
Tennis is not a sport you just pick up and are instantly good at.

Have you ever seen a fat and out of shape tennis player?

Don't worry...I'll wait...
