Amazon :francis:

I heard Amazon is demonic, but is it doable? I saw their career day seminar and a corporate dude said he had no contacts but wanted to work there, so he signed up for warehouse work.

2 months in he was speaking to their internal hiring and now he a finance manager....

Is that corporate kool-aid I'm drinking?

Ha ha spent half a day on a door to door sales job once. Never again
:russ: I did that shyt! Went door to door selling overpriced home security systems. The "manager" drove us out to some random suburb and told us to act like we were from GE. Told us to look out for handicapped ramps because old people are the easiest sales. Later read in the contract that the company can retroactively "unpay" you if the customer cancelled their service within six months:hhh:. Didn't come back.

yeah i remember my first day with DuPont
The security guard detained me,, then was calling HR, then security desk got sick of me standing there and escorted me up to HR before lunch
Im sitting there, it's 2pm and hr is calling people trying to figure out who I am
About 4pm they realize im the new process engineer and are like oops- sorry, we are not normally this disorganized
They tell me tomorrow go to 321 and help Joe Smith
Day 2 it takes me to like 10 oclock to find 321
I don't have a passcard so I'm sneaking into elevators and slipping in behind people before the hallway closes
So I walk in and ask for Joe Smith
He's like "are you my boss?"
I thought of saying yeah:troll:
But im like nah what's going on:mjlol:

They hired him 3 weeks ago to be a process engineer also
And I say i am here to help him
And he is like "help me with what??"
So we sit and read the paper
Next day repeat.. In afternoon, HR comes by to finish my paperwork and give me a security badge
I had got high during lunch so I keep laughing at how absurd this is
Day 4 & 5 ditto

So next week someone comes by and says we will be making nylon sex
I wasn't with the homosexual aspects
And what I look like concerning myself with pantyhose
Just casually bringing it up like I'm supposed to go along quietly
Joe Smith stayed but i walked the fukk out
Threw my security badge in the lobby trash can as I left

Next week i had a gig with monsanto manufacturing roundup
so it's whatever
later i realize he had been talking about making fibers used for carpet
but the white southern drawl threw me off
Not like I wanted to work on carpet fibers anyway:scust:

I remember I applied for a lil warehouse job a Dupont,, the lady had emailed me back for a on-site interview I was
:ehh: because I have heard so much about Dupont ,,

Get there it's about 30 motherfukkers lined up to enter the building ,, once in

These motherfukkers packed us in a room to take a math test / iq test on Asvab type shyt

I had a job like this and to this day I regret not leaving on my lunch break instead of staying that entire first and last day. At one point the guy training me was showing me what I would be doing the next day and I was just shaking my head but thinking “ I ain’t coming back”. Worked 11am-11pm first day. I blocked they numbers and threw away all the company t-shirts and never went back.

This literally happened with me a couple of months back. My roommates mom hooked me up with a job at her business in a call center. I was going into it thinking it was going to be the easiest thing ever. I pushed through training, but the first day was when it started to go down hill. Every single call I was getting cussed out. By the end of the week I was out. I went into the office and told them when I started my lunch break. I was originally going to come back in and finish the rest of the day, but I just decided to head home after getting my food.

I used to work at this shytty telemarketing company called Opinion Access :hhh:.

When I was down bad and down on my luck I saw an ad on craigslist for this job. They said $100 reward for passing interview and marketing exam. I was like :ohhh:.

I called up, got scheduled for the interview, passed it and the exam. Got my $100 too :yeshrug:.

So the day of my first shift, I walk in and nikkas in the lunch area arguing among each other cause somebody stoled this dyke fried chicken out the fridge. They was doing a full investigation with the manager. The shyt lasted for like a hour and I was just standing there confused and lost :dahell:.

So after that is over, they bring me over to the call center room and I kid you not, shyt smelled like weed, piss, and musk.:hhh:

I was about to leave on the spot just because of that, but I needed the money.:yeshrug:

Next the guy puts me and a couple of other people at our assigned seats to do calls training. I sat and watched my manager call a bunch of old people and prey on them to do surveys. Shyt was demoralizing the way they were messing with these people. Pressuring them to fill out surveys and whatnot. While in the middle of the training, a fight broke out because the stolen chicken from earlier. I told my manager I had to use the bathroom and walked right out. They was hiring anybody off the street. :francis:

You worked for opinion access too? :ohhh:
I had just about purged that garbage place from my memory. :russ: I lasted maybe 3 days after I realized they were sending me home after like an hour or two claiming there was no work. I quickly realized a lot of people there were just trying to hold down a legal job due to a record

My first job was a temp job during my highschool years in the summer at this bread factory. We were supposed to work in the office part because they were getting new carpets. We were told we had to get all the cabinets and desks onto these carts so the carpet could get brought up easier. I'm like:jbhmm::leostare:Well I can get some money in my pockets that's never a bad thing and it's not far from my home:yeshrug::ehh:9-5 for a couple weeks:ehh:Met some cool people which was cool but moving those gotdamn things was a nightmare. I was weight training so I was pretty strong by then and usually was the person who had to hold the weight:sadcam::mjlol::mjlol:

The managers were always in there talking about once this is down they can get the carpets up. I was like ":ehh:just gotta hold it down until whoever was getting hired to tear the carpets up."
I was always curious who "they" was as they never said anything about the carpet part in the interview :jbhmm:We get all the cabinets and office equipment on the carts and I'm like cool all done:ehh:
Manager: Ok good now the carpets:mjlit:*Hands box cutters and gloves *Me::mjgrin:What I'm supposed to be doing with these? Manager: You guys are going to rip the carpet off now:jawalrus::pachaha:
Me::skip::gucci::mjtf:Oh hell nah :why:Yall...that building was old as fukk the damn glue under the carpet was sticking to the gotdamn floor:mindblown:We had no masks either and there's mildew, mold, all kinda shyt getting sent in the air:damn::damn::damn:The office had NO windows either :damn::damn::damn::dead::dead::dead:I was so pissed:dead::dead:We used to joke that in 30 or 40 years if we developed some type of lung shyt we know exactly who to blame:russ::russ::russ:

Man, I got laid off at the beginning of the pandemic and took an engineering manager job with this rinky dink ass company just so I could have a job. I was used to having my own office or cubicle, but they had all of us sitting at a table and wasn’t no guarantee you’d get a seat with how many people worked there. Company was just so unorganized. I lasted 4 months. Switched me to 2nd shift that was from 6pm to 3am, and that was the final straw. I left at midnight and went to the bar. Quit on a whim.

So if you didn't get a chair you was just standing around for 8 hours :dwillhuh:

I remember I lasted maybe 3 hours at a call center before I dipped:russ:
I trained for a month to be on the phone helping people with health admin shyt. Had to learn laws and do tests in class and everything. First day on the job I'm barely picking up calls and hanging up others. Thinking about quitting. Then I get a math test on my desk randomly and I'm asked to do that shyt. After I completed the test I got promoted and a raise the same day to a new department working in the back office with records not on the phones.

So I never even had to bail or work on the phone. God was in the building. :whew:

Shyt was the quickest job I ever been on. I was there for 4 hours max. Left right after the training was over. :russ:
They had a class action lawsuit against them a couple of years ago too
