I don't think they're scared, it's more out of lazyness. Like, yeah it'll be nice to date you but if you're not interested someone else will come by and snatch me up anyway

I've noticed a lot of less attractive girls are bolder when it comes to pursuing a dude, but if they get rejected they play it off like they were just joking.
