When you think about how Biggie and Jay-Z have that gift of not writing rhymes it is amazing

GZA and RZA wrote most of Dirty's shyt, actually. According to Method Man, Brooklyn Zoo was one of the few songs he actually wrote himself

Hell that Wu documentary on Showtime showed RZA giving ODB a whole verse and practicing it with him and remarks that it was exactly how they did Cuttin Headz too.
I remember hearing he freestyled that album I know he recycled a verse or 2

That’s exactly what they do. They write their rhymes, memorize them, leave spaces to add producer names and then just record it to a beat in 1 take. That’s why jay sounded the way he did on Renegade because Eminem and Royce rode the beat. Jay just spit some lyrics he had prepared earlier. I can’t believe Mfers still believing as ill as biggie and Jay’s rhymes are that they are composing whole fukking albums in their head in the studio and getting the shyt in one take. Bullshyt!!! Anyone believing jay z wrote 22 2’s in his head sitting in the studio and got it in one take are fukking stupid.

Now this new shyt Jay is doing I believe he’s writing it on the spot lol

Cam did the same thing on Get Em Daddy. Cam literally has the best quote in hip hop history

"Suck a dikk no homo"

He spit that shyt without writing it down

I think it expands your rhyming because you’re not held to the constraints of “seeing” the words rhyme, it’s not a visual thing at all. For example, Lil Wayne stays rhyming words that don’t rhyme on paper but rhyme when you hear them…blond/wine Tyler/collar ball/court etc… madd other examples. Nu Jersey Twork is the same, if you were just reading a lot of his stuff on paper you wouldn’t immediately think all of it is rhyming…but when you hear him spit it it sounds perfect rhyming wise. Rum Nitty. Etc… That’s one of the benefits of not having to see the words written down and just thinking them and saying them in your head…makes rhyme bending and all that come more naturally

And it 1000% makes your flow sound looser and more free…Biggie and Jigga having some of the greatest flows ever isn’t coincidental.

Unless you literally live in the studio, you have to write down rhymes at some point.

You aren't just walking around with 1000 16s in your head not writing down anything, you will forget shyt.

Im not saying them nikkas wrote down everything I do believe a lot of the stuff they did just being in the studio was probably off top, but as a lyricist lyrics will pop into your head during everyday life, especially if its just a line or two and if you don't write it down it will be gone.

No Lil Wayne punches in. He’ll rap a few bars stop rap a few more stop etc he not in the same category as BIG and Jay. They memorize verses and spit them in the studio.

Memphis Clerk confirmed Jay-Z wrote his rhymes for Reasonable Doubt, but everything after that was off the dome. And it makes sense. Reasonable Doubt is his best album :pachaha:

And Jay has forgotten tons of 16's, per Clark Kent. I forgot what he called it, but he had a name for it.

He talked about it on either drink champs or combat jack...was saying some shyt like Jay would spit rhymes in the whip, but would ultimately forget them when it came time to record

I, for one, welcome our new space overlords.
I'm wired the same way.I'm Carter G Woodson, meets Mark Twain, merged with Maya Angelou (nh) in my head.....But sometimes , I have a hard time transferring my thoughts

to paper.I touch the pen and immediately get discouraged.Y'all will never see my most profound thoughts/post.Same thing happens when I type:mjcry:....I can form shyt in my

head all day, tho:francis:
Try trying all the idea titles on a smartphone notebook. Just a line or two not the whole concept. In a year or two you'll find a whole lot of ideas and thoughts that will surprise even yourself.

"That’s like my nightmare song because I never liked that beat. People seemed to like it so I said, “fukk it.” Jay used to spit that verse [a cappella] every time we did a performance. He used to always have the crowd going crazy. So he said, “I’ma just make a song out of it.” I played that beat and he’s like, “I’ma use that one.” And I’m like, “That one? That one? I got so many better ones.”

Yeah, try that out and tell me if you can spit it in one take. shyt is hard yo! Its just hard for me to believe all that an then one take is perfected by two friends.

:manny:
Stage, screen actors, and improv actors do this all the time. Comedians too. Pro Wrestlers do with their promo’s AND their bodies. Lots of people can do it and even more people can’t.

When are you nikkaz gonna stop celebrating this pre written cap ass shyt.

First off the shyt limiting as fukk.
As you can not go back to review anything from that era or time. So you never improve.
Next most people who do this are not actual full dope emcees. As they not shyt-off the head cause they cheat with pre written.

So they foo as fukk off top a d will get exposed by anyone better.

Ala when Jay had to spit against top tier emcee frfr.

Big l
Juice
Eminem.

He got embarrassed or carried to his high drawing outing.

So stop the you was never an emcee and speaking out of turn face ass cap.

Not really. If you do it all day, it's a skill you hone like anything else. Especially when you're young and your brain is pliable. Remembering 16 bars isn't some impossible feat. Canibus said he practised those legendary freestyles over the Broken Language instrumental looped so he would have them memorized and ready to go. Just ran the tape over and over and rapping them until he got them locked. If that's what you put your mind to, it will happen.
