no offense but it's really sad to see some people in their late 20s and 30s promoting gangbanging. even hearing that treach who's like 40 years old still promoting it calling himself an O.G. man, just let it go. i really didn't want to say this shyt but i got to because this is sickening.and no it's not like the west coast either which is also embarrassing. those people been doing their thing for 40 plus years where you have people seeing it as kids and wanting to be with it. the whole gangbanging on the east coast isn't structured like how it is in the west where it's neighborhoods, generations within families and etc. folks just need to let it go or just grow up. i don't even get why these guys are holding onto it instead of just trying to reach some real goals like making money, buying houses, making babies, raising families and etc, basically living their lives and not this kind of shyt. not this whole entire killing folks, trying to show who's a man or being down for a block and a neighbor that isn't even theirs, going to funerals because someone got killed, and this sorry ass cycle towards nothing. once gentrification comes through and kicks everybody out, folks will be forced to go where they're told to go and have nothing to show. folks just gotta let it go or smarten up. i mean, folks are a lot smarter than this. instead of competing over who's the toughest or the most street out there, folks can basically compete on who's the smartest, who has the best job, who redeveloped this house, work towards progress and NOT this dumb shyt of self destruction. we're black men. we don't have to follow this shyt. we don't have to become murder stats, victims, victimizers or prison inmates. we're a lot smarter than this shyt.
geez, folks need to actually rise above and stop falling into the traps, supporting a system that WANTS them to fail. i know there's some people that are going to get upset at what i'm saying BUT i damn sure can't celebrate, condone or respect a man killing someone else or himself over nothing. sad to see people looking up to that as if that's the way to go or it's cool. entertainment is entertainment. this is real life.

I don't know who fam is in the vid, I wrote him off as another ignorant fool...but in another video, it is clear he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He does motivational speaking and encouraging kids to not be in gang, but yet he still in the streets. I can't stand a person who blur the lines on shyt. Pick a side. Either you co-sign gangs or you don't. Especially when you know as an OG that the gang life is only temporary and has very limited to no options to have a successful life
I don't care how fawked up a person life is, adding a gang life will add to the fukked-up-ness. In another post you said you came from the Army. Would you down play your experience in the Army when you are around your friends who gang bang OR will you pick a side, say against gang, and talk about the positive shyt you seen outside your hood that the homies need to experience?

i wholeheartedly agree with you. the man in the video is basically contradicting himself. he tells the younger kids to not gangbang but yet he can't seem to walk away from it himself.
and hell, folks don't even need to go that route where they have to fistfight. how about they learn to be men and walk away from a confrontation? not every single dispute or disagreement has to be resolved with through violence. these guys are men. they can talk it out.

Not 100% who started it and if there's any exact meaning other than sounding powerful (an older CHI head could clear it up). But between the Vice Lords, Stones and Kings one of them started it and they all use that in-front of their Nation. AVLN, ABPSN, ALKQN, etc. I'm assuming the Lords started it since they're older than the Stones and then once People Nation formed, all those in the alliance kinda followed suit
