If you made beat making AND rhyming a necessity and then made a top list, QTip might be the best in that particular category.

His comp is like Kanye West, Scarface, Dr Dre, RZA.

But rap-wise, I think even Phife had a sharper pen than QTip.

Tip's bars have always been average. His voice is the thing, not his actual bars.

An unadulterated genius.
His post-2000 bars are something to behold.
His production is way next level.
Crazy versatility. From Check The Rhime to Shook Ones to Gangsta bytch.
He stays low-key so his name doesn't ring out like it should.
His influence is wide ranging.
He discovered Dilla. Dre said that Low End Theory heavily informed The Chronic.
Megan is actually his protegee

He is a top 3 FAVORITE "rap" producer for me.

I cant say where other people should rank him as a producer, but he in my top 3 for rap

He is a good rapper that makes top tier rap songs. Lyrically never blew me away.
