THIS. Gamers that have grown up gaming are now trashing every fukkin thing due to the fact that they are jaded.
Younger gamers are fukkin entitled because they don't know what it's like to play super simplistic ass 2d games that take a team of 5-10 people to make.

What really kills me though is that for all their bytching and moaning online, they go out and buy the damn game anyway

I told y'all.

Sports games are key. And not just sports games, but the "casual" gamer market that offers VARIETY.

Instead, the video game industry put all their eggs in the FPS/RPG basket, and it bit them in the ass. They thought the "blockbuster" can't-miss homerun games would sustain the entire generation and it doesn't work like that.

You post this in every thread and I always ask for any data to back up what you are saying?

Games are selling like never before. 2k, The Show and Madden are selling like never before and always the most played games year in and out.

The best games are now released on the PC as indie's, then hyped up, then re released on consoles or handhelds then more hype for a sequel is created.

Older gamers now are so jaded and picky that they can't even enjoy an average game, I found fond memories of plenty of games that where just mehhh


The younger gamers are so bent on being cool that they only play the games and systems that everyone else is playing in. The get hype for whatever the blogs and sites say is suppose to be "amazing" then cry and whine when it doesn't live up to the hype.


Developers can't be creative with gaming on consoles for trying to chase a dollar and a trend while put out PR fires.


its really a mess, gaming is just like the movie biz now.


And the biggest problem of all is everything is just so convenient and and readily available that we all are spoiled. Stuff is leaked, info is constantly being tickled out... and if we dont like something when instantly move on to something else.

The Playstation 3 happened. The PS2 never got a true successor in Japan because the PS3 was too bulky and expensive. Their gamers aren't really into console gaming anymore. The PS3 pushed them towards portables and then mobile phones.

Now many of their storied franchises if they aren't westernized they're either downgraded to mobile or abandoned. Console gaming is a western dominated thing now.
