Where did this myth that the "cool kids" from high school have terrible lives after come from?

I don't think it's true that the "cool" or popular kids necessarily fall the fukk off
Some of them have already reached their peak
Or just can't navigate the adult world at the same level that they did the Hs world

I do think some of the kids who didn't fall in those categories catch up more after Hs
Some are just late bloomers
Some don't hit their stride till they're out of the Hs environment

This basically sums it up.

They have the best time of their lives in HS.

It's funny bumping into the lames from HS years later though, with that chip on their shoulder. Dudes walk around like :birdman: trying to show they're not lames anymore LOL.

I can't hate on that. I was in line to a concert a few years back, and some older dude was bragging about how he was a high school basketball star. "I dropped 40 on Juwan Howard", is the one quote I remember. It was kinda lame, but at the same time I would have probably done the same if I was in that position.

Dropping 40 on Juwon Howard doesn't sound impressive these days at all. Even when he was in his prime, Juwon was really never a great one on one defender.

I went to school in the hood. None of that "cool kid" "popular" shyt really mattered. Most folks just stuck with who they knew from their hood or was cool with in class. If somebody was cool with somebody, they were just cool with them. None of that white movie/TV show shyt about high school really applied. shyt, the band was full of nikkas from the hood. Most of the "popular" females in school got pregnant if they weren't already before they graduated. Quite a few nikkas I was cool with from school are/were locked up or dead. nikkas ain't even thinking about that "who was popular in school" now. Most of everybody is just trying to get their lives together at this point
