This is a serious thread by the way. I've been thinking about it and there is literally no one in the league that can stop him. I used to feel the same way about Tony G and Gates. And Sharpe back in the day. When you get a 6'5+ tight end with hands and some speed, there's just no stopping him.

Where do you rank him all time among tight ends?
Among pass catchers in general?
Among all offensive weapons?

Who would you rather have on your team down 5 with 1 second left on the clock inside the 10?

I never watched Tony in his prime, so I can't make much in the way of comparison there, but watching Gronk it seems like he's damn near unstoppable.

Breh will run a crisp rout to the sideline, catch it, throw the cornerback into a gatorade stand and drag the strong safety a good 5 yards before gang tackle help gets there. :wow:

Dude has the hands (pause :dame:) of a top of the line WR as well. Will just pluck that shyt out of the sky.

Nightmare to defend all around. Too fast for LB's. Too big for corners. And shifty/physical enough to beat safeties consistently...:damn:

Not better than Tony

Tony Gon was great but He wasn't as double and tripled teamed as Gronk is. Gronk is a better blocker, he Blocks like a lineman and Catches/Run the Same Routes as wide receivers. Theres not One player in the league that can go 1 on 1 and Stop him, the only way to stop him is :beli: putting him in bubble wrap and not going to him to save him for the playoffs or them Dirty Bronco Defensive backs constantly going at his knees.

He's the best tight end ever the only thing holding him back from that title is longevity. And never has their been a threat like him at tight end as far as taking it to the house. Gates was a beast and a supreme playmaker in his prime but even he isn't fukking with Gronk.

1. Tony G
2. A Gates
3. Sharp
4. Witten
5. Gronk

The reaction to him is such an overreaction. Tony G has triple the yards. Gates and Sharpe have double his yards PLUS you can't be an all time number one and be that brittle. Mike Ditka has more yards receiving than him. You can call him the most physically imposing tight end in NFL history, but calling him the best is slightly ridiculous when you actually look at numbers.

Edit: I forgot about Witten too! Gronk ain't even the GOAT white TE. Witten got that title for now.

Yes he was. Tony G was the Chiefs passing offense for years and was doubled all the time.

This. I can't even believe we have to explain this to people.

Y'all are really gonna have to stop pretending like DBs talking a TE at the knee is dirty. Your DBs were tackling Kelce low too and you don't see Kansas City fans bytching. Tackling is tackling. Gronk is just brittle. He's strong, but he breaks easy. It's not everyone else's fault that he gets hurt when they tackle.

Hes obviously best ever as far as pure talent however you can't rank him #1 due to longetivity. Every play with Gronk you're holding your breath hoping his knee doesnt get fukked up again. When you're that injury prone it is a mark against you. I dont remember Tony G having any serious injuries in his prime.

He's the most talented TE I've seen but I would have him at about 5 of all time.

I still think

Tony Gonzalez
Antonio Gates
Shannon Sharpe
Jason Witten

are better but could finish at the top 3 at this rate.
