What he saying isn't to crazy tho. Hernandez had already gotten paid. I don't know if they woulda wanted to pay another TE 40+ mill

Didn't they extended Gronk first....and then Hernandez after....

Sources: Patriots extend TE Hernandez's deal

The New England Patriots have locked up both their young tight ends to long-term extensions after reaching agreement with Aaron Hernandez on a deal through 2018, sources told ESPN.com on Monday.

"I knew it was coming, just cause, when Gronk (Rob Gronkowski) got it, I knew there was a good chance I was next in line," he said. "Now that it happened, it's definitely a blessing, and take it in, I'm excited to go on with my life.

More durable that he missed more games than Gronk during the same time period?

:dead:
Hernandez the killer was more minor. Pats just being patient.
:yeshrug:

Gronk is good.
He ain't Witten tho. And Hernandez the killer would have overtaken him on the depth chart.

Maybe not. Belicheck is sort f :mjpls: with it

he's the most physically imposing TE i've ever seen, but off the top of my head, i have him behind tony g, shannon, and gates easily....if he plays longer and dominates at this level, then i'll re-evaluate the list....

Why would he have "overtaken" him on the depth chart.....when they wanted to pair them obviously..they have been trying to duplicate this for years....plus Aaron was more versatile with how they lined him up...dude was lining up in the back field on a lot of plays...

Gronk is unstoppable and as long as doesn't suffer any major injuries he will own every tight end record their is to own. Even if he doesn't play long enough to get there my eyes tell me that he is the best and most talented tight end to ever step on a field.

Threads like this is why the coli is the single dumbest website on the internet for sports...

Guys in here calling Gronk "The greatest tight end ever"

How...the fukk...you better...ALL TIME...than a guy who has 3 times as many catches as you...

How...the fukk...you better...ALL TIME...than a guy with twice as many yards as you...

How...the fukk...you better...ALL TIME...than a guy who career is twice as long as y ours currently is

I thought the coli would be smart enough to not even compare a dude with over 1000 catches to a dude who doesn't even have 450 catches...but I was wrong...

Gronk is not even on the same planet as Witten, Tony, and Shannon...cause they are all in the 10,000 club...and Gronk is barely halfway their...

Gronk is not even on the same planet as Witten and Tony...cause they have 1,000 catches...Gronk is barely A THIRD OF THE WAY THEIR...

You nikkas must be 15 years old and just started watching football yesterday...

nikkas in here talking about Gronks toughness...meanwhile in real life Gronk has missed more games in a row in one season than witten has missed his entire career...

nikkas in here saying numbers are overrated...uh...then how are you coming to the conclusion that he is so great?

fukking Jason Witten has a rule named after him cause he was beasting on players so hard they ripped his helmet off and he gave nan fukk and kept running...

Where the Gronk rule at?

Honestly Gronk is going to have to be further evaluated due to to having a damn near cybernetic arm now...mufukka running around here catching passes with skynet on his fukking arm...:mjlol:... knowing the pats all that shyt on his arm probably got some adhesive on it that makes the ball stick to him...Brady throw him a fade route and Gronk raise Skynet up and catch that shyt with his elbow...

Nah, that "but career numbers!" argument is stupid.

Tiger Woods was the greatest golfer ever already by the time he was 24 and had won everything there was to win while beating the deepest fields ever far worse than they had ever been beaten.

I don't care that he'd only won 24 tournaments and 5 majors by that time. I don't care that he had a fraction of 18 majors and 82 tournaments that he needed to hold the records. I don't care that too many waitresses in parking lots and military training exercises in the desert were destined to wreck his career a hair's length before he'd set the all-time career records that matter most.

He was already the best. golfer. ever. at that point. He was playing golf better than anyone ever had.

Jordan was Jordan when he won his 4th title in 1996. If he had given up the sport again to focus on gambling full-time at that point, he'd still be Jordan, and he'd still be better than Magic. He didn't need to get the help of deep-as-hell lineups to beat a badly outmatched Jazz team twice in a row for us to recognize, "Oh, this guy who already peaked a few years earlier is now the best bballer ever."

I ain't saying that Gronk is the best tight end yet or not. But if he is the best, it's because of what he's doing RIGHT NOW, not what he's doing when he's 35 and has a 20-reception, 221-yard season to get over some "magic number".

Gronk was a non factor this season in the 2 games without Brady. You can say he's coming off an injury but he was a 6'5 ghost in weeks 3 and 4.

How much of gronk's success can attributed to tom brady???

Playing with a rookie(3rd round pick) 3rd string QB with a thumb injury on his throwing hand. Yeah that had nothing to do with it :beli:

Tony Gon was great but He wasn't as double and tripled teamed as Gronk is. Gronk is a better blocker, he Blocks like a lineman and Catches/Run the Same Routes as wide receivers. Theres not One player in the league that can go 1 on 1 and Stop him, the only way to stop him is :beli: putting him in bubble wrap and not going to him to save him for the playoffs or them Dirty Bronco Defensive backs constantly going at his knees.

Gronk's prime already destroys the others. It's a matter of time and health for him to go down as the GOAT.
