drawing fouls is a talent. All elite offense players do it.
That's true to a certain degree, but is it still a talent when one relies upon it to the point where it hinders and exposes not only their game but has an adverse effect on their team's offense?

He's great because it works. I hate his style of play but it works numbers wise
It eventually doesn't though, there's always a point where it breaks. I mean we seem to have this conversation every postseason where we bring up how bad his offensive play is.

I don't think I have ever seen a guy just straight up not try on defensive as much as Harden...

I legit don't even know if he is good or bad on defense because a person has to give effort before you can know how good or bad they are and Harden doesn't give any...

Which is so weird because you would think as many people who shyt on his defense he would put a stretch together to shut them up for at least a little while...

If I got a team of bums I am absolutely taking james harden...somebody got to put up shots and flop to the line and it probably won't be the sorry as players on my team...

If I got 10 competent nba players there is no fukking way I am taking James Harden...I'm putting a clause in their contract that if they get caught hanging with James harden it's going to cost them a G...

And you were exposed once again as Harden shot 15 FT attempts in game 2. :russ:

B-b-b-but the refs swallow their whistle in the playoffs. :mjlol:

He had ZERO free throws in G1. Two can play this game. If you are of the belief that the refs don't allow more contact in the postseason than clearly you don't watch enough playoff ball.

So he's averaging 7.5 for now (on the road) and trending upwards..
That's less than he averages during the regular season.

But he's the problem with that:

we don't know how many he'll average over the course of what'll probably be 2-3 games
we don't know how many of those will be non-shooting fouls
we don't know what ratio of attempts and turnovers to shooting fouls in comparison to the regular season will be
we don't know how many more drives per game he'll have compared to the regular season

It's not as simple as just looking at how many FTs he gets. The point is teams play stronger and more consistent defense in the postseason and the officials allow them to play more physical defense on the back of that. Harden's over-dependency on calls always rears its ugly head.

Bro, what does this have to do with James Harden. Lebron an all time great top 5 and there is no denying that. Harden is hanging by a thread when it comes to even Superstar conversations.

Only on internet message boards. Analyst on tv who played the game and covered the game say he is a superstar he should be good enuff to steal a game from GSW. That might not happen but his peers who play against him on a nightly basis say that he is the reigning best player in the league.

The Rockets team as a whole has taken a step back this season but individually speaking Harden just put up numbers only LeBron, Jordan and Oscar Robertson have put up.

He's still a top 15 caliber player but he needs another player to play off if he wants to have success in the postseason. It's crazy that him and Dwight didn't work cause on paper they were a perfect fit for each other.

I think he needs to change the way he plays too. Those iso's at the top of the 3pt line or getting the pick and always creating off the dribble is tiring and it's easier for the defense to key in on at playoff time. He needs to go in to the post then turn and face from about 12-18 feet and he'll be able to get to the rim easier. Or if its a small guard on him bang him and hit that turnaround stepback or get to the rim.

He also could become more of a slasher if he had another playmaker like LeBron and DWade played off each other. Whenever one went to the rim drawing the defenses attention the other would be cutting and be available to receive a pass at full speed heading towards the rim.
