Probably the single most impressive run in rap history.

-Rap Song with the most GRAMMY wins EVER (5x — Not Like Us) - won in general categories too, something that is very, very rare for hip hop
-SuperBowl
-The MOST watched Super Bowl Halftime show EVER (133.5M viewers)
-The record for Rapper with the MOST all-time Spotify monthly listeners (110M)
-First rap song to ever be eligible for 2x diamond (Humble)
-Critically Acclaimed album
-Highest grossing concerts for a black man in music history
-First album under 15 tracks to reach these numbers in the streaming era
-Tied Michael Jackson record with the most #1 hits on the hot 100 in the span of 12 months
-On pace to beat Eminem for the longest charting song at #1 for a rapper
-...

There's way too many to list.

Kendrick isn't just beating one or two records, he's breaking them all!!! And like billboard said, nobody in music thought it was possible for a 12 track album like GNX to pull these numbers in the dsps era, this is the equivalent of going 2x platinum first week in 2000.

Like serious question what the fukk we talking about here. We giving nikkaz the metrics and they still talking shyt. nikkaz said they don’t play Kendrick in the south that nikka did shyt no southern artist has done sell out they own stadium in they own city. Thug ain’t do it, Future ain’t do it, Wayne ain’t do it, Tip ain’t do it, Andre ain’t do it. But it’s all good yall nikkaz can talk all yall shyt he still going to continue to break records that you will ignore.

And I’m tired of this oh Kendrick don’t got no black fans shyt which clearly isn’t the case. Why if you trying to be the biggest artist would you limit to that. If I was an artist I want every race bumping my shyt. We trying to be universal over here.

Lol...

Before dissing Drake, kendrick had and still has:

-the 2nd biggest rap album of the whole century (when it comes to charts), ahead of any drake album, as confirmed by Billboard
-the best selling rap song ever
-the longuest chartin rap album ever
-the #1 highest rated rap album ever by critics
-the #2 highest rated rap album ever by critics
-the only pulitzer prize ever won by a non classical artist
-the 2nd best selling rap tour ever as a solo rapper, only topped by Travis.

And considering Kendrick has been the biggest rapper in Africa for the past couple of years...nobody has more black people listening to him.
Lol drake fans act like Kendrick was pusha t prior to the beef. Kendrick was already one of the biggest and most critically acclaimed artists in the world

We’ve never seen a run that included a historic rap beef win followed by an historically successful album followed by a historic Super Bowl performance followed by a historically successful single in Luther followed by a historic stadium tour. Didn’t even mention the awards and accolades. Thats easily in contention for best ever. Minimum top 3 at worst.

Kendrick’s run is in the convo for best ever becsuse he’s doing it 15 years into his career. He doesn’t have the benefit of being a new mainstream sensation like some of the other guys did

He's not bigger than '03 50 Cent :mjlol:

He's not bigger than '02 Eminem :mjlol:

Those 2 were global phenomenons.

Did you not see his sh*t getting played from Africa to Japan the last year? :gucci:

Did you not see he's headlining a festival in Australia? :gucci:

I'm not even saying it's impossible to argue any of those guys run was bigger....but "those were global phenomenons" is a bizarre angle to take.

This is the only “run” in rap history that I can think of that’s based solely off of one song lol

This shyt could never be compared to legendary runs by Wayne, Future and Drake

Fact is The majority of black people just isn’t listening to Kendrick on that level like that.

How is this based off one song? Not like us is not his biggest song humble is. Also Luther beat not like us nikka he has had like 10 songs within the top 10 on billboard If you include the battle tracks and gnx. In one year 4 of them were number 1 hits.

He’s definitely up there. I HATE Eminem with every fiber of my being but white America made goddamn SURE his 2002 run would have to always been mentioned. As popular as Kendrick is now, unfortunately, I don’t think his run is surpassing Em’s just off raw numbers and hype.

I’d say Kendrick’s 2025 surpasses Drake’s 2016 easily. X put out TWO number 1 platinum selling albums in 98, the first rapper to do so. That’s not easily surpassable. 50 in 03 was a supernova but didn’t get the acclaim or awards plus he had to share that year with Outkast, who were arguably the biggest music artists on the planet that year. So you can put Kendrick above 50 because Kendrick’s not sharing 2025 with another rapper.

We also have to give mention to Kanye West’s 2007, which is probably the best 1:1 comparison we have to Kendrick’s run. Kanye had the sales “battle” with 50, defeated him, became the acknowledged number 1 rapper in the world, and went on a sold out tour and was multi-awarded at the Grammys, etc.

Lil Wayne sold 1 Million PURE PHYSICAL copies of Carter 3 in 2008. I think Wayne is overrated and that album is garbage but he was hot as muthafukking fish grease that year, can’t take that away from him.

So i’d put Kendrick above Drake and 50, but below X 98 and Wayne 08. Equal to Kanye’s 07 and just put Eminem in a class by himself with 1990 Vanilla Ice and 2000 Nsync
50 was pandemonium, they were considering making a whole GTA G-Unit game. Get Rich sold 900k the first week and 800k the second. In Da Club was literally the biggest song in radio history. Everything he touched was a hit. He dominated every race and age group. Kendrick is massive right now, but outside of the week NLU dropped and the super bowl, it doesn't feel like 50 to me.

This is not a great take music was in a different place back then. Music is way harder to sell in this era because of streaming. 50 had mtv and all the other musical avenues. Kendrick is dominating where the odds aren’t in his favor and shyt like Trl and 106 and park are not existent. nikkaz had to be on TV a lot to sell units. Also 50 didn’t have over 10 years under his belt. By the time he was Kendrick’s age he was washed.

It was the napster era and 50 was heavily bootlegged weeks before his album dropped. Everywhere I went, 50 was the only thing talked about. G-Unit mixtapes were like albums and playing in every car. 50 benefited from the "machine" but that doesn't mean the hype wasn't real.

Napster wasn’t to the level where streaming is at. 50 had a crazy debut there’s no denying that but after Massacre he went downhill. This ain’t the case with Kendrick he’s gotten bigger and bigger with every album he’s dropped. My parents are almost 70 and they fukk with gnx heavy.
