Mark one of the most underrated wrestlers ever on the mic, and during this run he got his ring work tolerable enough that he was really able to flourish as a main event character

it's up there wit Brock's first run (that's what I count as the GOAT monster heel run in the WWF/E)
wasn't watching from mid 08 to 2011 (was off and on during 2011) and missed some of it but went back rewatched this run and I'm glad I did. He hit his stride and was booked like he should have been but one thing I've noticed is that the big guys last much longer if they can switch up and do comedy (Show, Kane, Henry).

That run is why I still haven't given up on him even at his age and position in the company, I believed him from every talking point.
It was beautiful seeing an unapologetic black wrestler be dominant with no comedy or schtick. Just saying I'm gonna kick your ass then proceeding to kick your ass

An amazing heel run. Mark Henry was in rare form, cutting some fantastic believable promos, and straight up dominating in matches. Wish his run was longer, but it came at the perfect time and greatly appreciated. He was a major highlight around that time.

It's crazy to think this all happened because Vince decided to prank Henry and Mark got so pissed he scared the shyt out of Vince and everyone else backstage.
If I recall his reign came to an end because he got hurt. Vince definitely punishes some people for getting hurt early in their run as champ. I hope Finn Balor doesn't get shyt on when he returns.
Truth be told Henry could have had a longer run as a heel but they fed him to Cena and it killed all his credibility. Henry has always been most effective as a heel, that smiling babyface shyt doesn't work with dudes that big.
