In ten years, Hip Hop will be like Rock music. That is, a formerly black music form, completed dominated by whites. Its already happening. We are witnessing a profound cultural shift right now. Macklemore has more people paying attention to him than any rapper in decades. Yet, the majority of audiences who listen to Hip Hop, primarily, and black folks, in general, didn't even know who dude was until a month ago. 
Macklemore is proving that the people who created and nurtured Hip Hop aren't even necessary to making a successful white rapper. Just because he's a non-threatening thoroughly white-whiteboy, white people that don't even listen to Rap are listening to him. Regular corny a$$ white people who feel secretly uncomfortable listening to black Hip Hop artists have been waiting on a corny white rapper like him for years.
Macklemore is a spit in the face to what Hip Hop was created to be. Hip Hop was founded as the poetry of the fukking ghetto. Macklemore is a damn whiteboy from fukking Seattle of all cities. The whitest of the white big cities.
No, he ain't a hood whiteboy from South Baltimore or somewhere in Philly. He's from Seattle. 
Yet, millions of white people f#ck with him. White people are taking Hip Hop and throwing the rule book, written by black people from the hood, out of the window. You don't need to be from the hood or have had any struggle to pick up a mic anymore. That was what the case was back in the 90's.
But now, white people have taken Hip Hop and they aren't giving it back. Ten years from now, Hip Hop will be white, bland and soulless.
Today, Hip Hop holds too much of the "gangsta" stigma with crackas in suburbia that keep Hip Hop from cashing out more than it can because America is a vastly white place at the end of the day. No self-respecting white person from the suburbs wants to be labelled as a wigger. But white people want to be able to slap Rap music loud at stoplights and not feel uncomfortable like they do today. In order for that to happen, Hip Hop must be stripped of all blackness and ghettoness. If Hip Hop were to become completely white, there would be dozens of videos on Youtube of white rappers getting hundreds of millions of views and dozens of albums going multiplatinum in weeks because white people are the main consumers of music, period. Record companies and the powers that be are beginning to figure this out. Its only natural because in order for Hip Hop to become completely mainstream in America, it needs to become dominated by white artists.

In the big scale of thing Cacmore aint a problem. The main players of the game and culture are black. The problem in my opinion is that these cats aint puttin up numbers. It kinda makes you wonder. If a random guy like cacmore can put up 600,000 completely indie with no budget. Than what is stopping these companies from cutting costs on movie like promo for black rappers when they can jus sign a whole bunch of artists who are able to put up big boy numbers on there own
