I remember when The Source gave this nikka Hip-Hop Quotable in, like, every other issue. I remember how certain of their writers (like that stupid bytch dream Hampton) used to prop him up as one of the best doing it back then….

What say y’all?

This one's more of a Brand Nubian song than a Puba solo, but....DAMMIT if this joint doesn't STILL GO:

he was very influential on the east coast in the early 90's. he had a lot of people rapping like him like salt n pepa, red hot lover tone, big dru ha, early mobb deep (poetical prophets), etc

but his run wasnt long enough for me to give him a high ranking or anything like that. i just respect what he brought to the game with all his talk of skins, etc. his best rhyme is still wake up though. to put the lessons in rhyme form and make it entertaining is mind blowing to me

He's actually from the 80s. He was in Masters of Ceremonies before Brand Nubian. He has had a long ass run.
Somewhat related watch the Brand Nubian Unsung ep this Sunday.

Catch me on the right day and I’ll tell you he’s number 1 on my personal list.

This is where I'm at with it. There's nothing the dude couldn't do, he just seemed to lose love for the game. I wonder why?

Why wasn't 0:18 - 0:29 the HOOK to this song. I've been playing this more and more the last few months.

I could of sworn somebody on :hamster:said he was the rap Brian Wilson

A genius but he was crazy and a challenger to work with. But I heard he had a good heart that’s why even when they split you could still see lord jamar and Sadat x in his videos.
