Where does Joe Budden rank all time for you?

Dude is ridiculously talented. He is socially awkward. He gets punched in the eye for running his mouth. All of these things are indisputable. But where does he rank all time??

31-50 or so. As a pure lyricist he's much higher (Top 20 possibly), but based off everything, he's not that high. No classic albums (mixtapes don't count), a couple of classic songs but his overall body of work is good not great

this is hard.. Its not like dude has a great catalogue.. hell of a rapper. Never was really focused on actually getting the right team and putting out classic material. So, I dont rank him in the top 50 at all. Not even close..

His rap battle against dude just sums up his career.. Never really focused and not complete

as far as who I enjoy and listen to he's top 20, easily. I don't give a fuk whether its a mixtape or an album. mood muzik 2, then 3 and 4.5 probably got more run from me than any artist outside of nas, kanye and little brother, during that span. and most of it other than the 5-minutes beat he jacked from cassidy was original production...so, that's all I care about.

he tweets like a 15-year-old, though. and acts even worse, at times. sometimes I wish I just listened to his music and stopped right there.

I understand that, but its ridiculous not to consider them when judging a rapper. Imagine not including One More Chance or Victory when judging Biggie!

ehh not really. Just because someone made a more cohesive album doesn't at all make them a better rapper. One classic doesn't trump 4 very good albums. Budden has never dropped a bad album imo. All his albums are good plus he's an elite lyricist. That's why he's top 50. There's rappers with classic albums that are nowhere near top 50 for many reasons. Could be their only good album, album could be classic even though they aren't particularly good rappers at all. So there's too many factors into making a classic album. With Budden he's an elite MC so that will trump a lot of people who just made a classic because they had the right production and guidance for one piece of work.

Ok... I hear ya. agree to disagree. I look at Budden more as a rapper that dropped the ball career wise. Banks too.
