no offense but gkmc is the consensus 2nd best hip hop album of the 2010s and objectively, s80 is nowhere near it.

and many (old hip hop heads included) consider gkmc as a top 50 hip hop album of all time, either you agree or not

don't believe the hype, breh. you live in a time where the current good is the greatest ever..... every time.

more people being comfortable with the internet means more people are there to voice their opinion when something drops.... and consequentially, you're able to see and hear more people's opinions as they voice them.

So-called classics drop all the time right now, only to collect dust in 6 months, then that artist fell off.

I may get hate for saying it, but if the internet was around back then?

Nas' career NEVER would have survived Nastradamus or the I Am bootleg....

Jay-Z NEVER would have survived Vol. 1.

It's an excellent album and definitely worth a listen.

Just don't go into it listening to these fukkin clowns.

It's only these hipster ass KTT types that hype it up as a top 50 album of all time.
ktt ?I bet you can't find a single critic's "greatest albums of all time" list (from 2012 to now) without gkmc on it. it's also one of the favorite albums by internet listeners in general and many old hip hop heads in real life mention it in their top 50

I've tried my hardest to cop it, it's crazy.

I've never been this torn on an album. It's $5 on Amazon and I'm definitely an album-buying breh and just can't.

I've heard every song (on the regular album) except:

"The Art of Peer Pressure"
"good kid" m.A.A.d city" (featuring MC Eiht)
"Sing About Me, I’m Dying of Thirst"
"Real" (featuring Anna Wise)

Kill My Vibe was the jam, for a minute....for a minute.

Dude is talented, but, I feel this weird sense of; Re: From the industry to the public: let's parade Kendrick EVERYWHERE and we'll never have to produce and support more artist makin' non-contrived music.

Dude is nice, but, can easily be looked back at, ten yrs from now, as just another MC, but with mega support from Interscope, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine.

"Questlove explains the difficulty to provide meaningful music and make it popular in Hip Hop. However, he does admit that Kendrick Lamar may be the exception to the rule"
had to steal that from another thread but Questlove said that. A man who worked with one of the GOATS who in consideration for a top 3 spot. He specifically said that kendrick makes MEANINGFUL music that is also popular.

:heh: top album of 2012 don't mean shyt in the long run, breh.

you're trying to match a great album from one year against great albums from every year for the last 35 years.

if you took the best 10 rap albums of the last 35 years...

you REALLY believe GKMC is better than 300 of those albums? :ohhh:

:usure: every time something drops, if it's at least a 4.5 then you'll have people saying it's a classic album.

We used to have a hype machine telling us that something is hot (we still do)

The internet has made it where people nd bloggers are the new hype machine.

I ain't about to look for a bunch of lists. :mjlol: What real critics make hip-hop lists? Be honest with yaself bruh... Hipsters be making all the lists you look at. You the same one who posted up that RYM list co-signing it on all your different accounts. :pachaha: Y'all only care about critical acclaim when it's convenient to your argument.

this is exactly what I mean, breh. :heh:

it USED to be that if they played something 500 times a day, you SWORE it was the shyt.

Now, people go on the internet and if they see 10 people say it's great, and they like it, it's top 10 all time GOAT.

THOSE people group together and hang out in threads, dudes log on and see a 20 page thread and go to see what the hype is about

THOSE posters get caught in the hype the SAME WAY dudes used to when shyt was played on the radio

they ALL go to places like RYM and vote.

Now it's a top 50 rap album...... of all time. :russ:
