Among Centers I have seen because Kareem and Wilt were before my time:

  1. Duncan T.
  2. Olajuwon H. (really tied for 1st)
  3. O'Neal S.
  4. Robinson D.
  5. Howard D.
  6. Mourning A.
    [*]Ewing P.
  7. Yao Ming (should have been top 5 if not for health)
  8. Smits R.
  9. Brad Dougherty

I feel like im missing some :patrice: I know there's been a shortage at C in a while but im missing a few. Someone post some names

Edit: Amare SHOULD be on this list and top 5 too

.
Amare and Duncan ain't centers. And you missing mutumbo.

Holy shyt.. in one thread alone I found out:

- Dwight Howard is better than Patrick Ewing
- Willis Reed was better than Patrick Ewing
- Ewing's legacy is tarnished because he was repeatedly dunked on
- Jason Kidd was slow and clumsy

:dafukk:

Actually i respect Ewing and Mourning for stepping in to defend the hoop. Most mofos these days are scared to end up on highlights.

As for the Dwight thing, again, I REPEATEDLY said that I EXPECT him to surpass Ewing by the time he's done because Ewing wasted all his career with a shytty franchise :troll: and has almost nothing to show for it

Lets stop and ponder this....

The Ewing led Knicks are one of maybe two teams that came close to and probably could have beaten that Bulls team. Charles Smith dunks one of those attempts and things are very very different.

My brother's keeper
Okay the Mournng pick was a homer pick being a heat fan and growing up in Miami :pachaha:
You will NOT change my mind on the David Robinson pick. :hmm: fukk you.
Dwight is still young so i expect him to surpass Ewing. They have as the same amount of championships (0)

Finals appearances
Ewing - 2
Howard - 1

Defensive Player of the Year
Ewing - 0
Howard - 3

League leader in rebounding
Ewing - 0
Howard - 5

League Leader in Blocks
Ewing - 0
Howard - 3

I mean outside of Ewing's sicker than life fade away I dont see why i should pick him over Howard :manny: Go ahead and make your point. I'm listening
nah Intruder, can't get with this.

Pat would be a beast now, being league leader is harder when 3 or 4 future hall of famers play your position

Amare and Duncan are what I call PF's of convenience

The only reason Duncan didnt start his career playing Center was because they had Robinson just coming off an injury. If anything Roninson could have been the PF because he, when healthy, could take ANY center off the dribble and didnt have Duncan's back to the basket game.

Amare... i dont know.. he has a Center's boody but a PF's game the same way Mourning had a C's game in a PF's body

Again i stand by my statement that i expect Dwight to surpass him. Yeah Dwight is not better now but like I said the kid is still young. What is he? Like 28?

Wasnt Lebron 28 when they said he'd never win a championship?

:beli::beli: Zo and Amare are the same height and Zo weighed more than him by about 10-15 pounds and had a bigger wingspan...so how does Zo have a PF body and Amare have a Center body?

The Knicks shoulda kept the X-Man, IMO. He would fukk with Pip and have him a little tentative, Pip had no fear of Charles Smith.

I'm talking height wise

Zo is 6'10" tall. 6'9 according to some

The prototypical PF is between 6'9 and 6'11. The prototypical Center is 6'11 and up. This was by 80's and 90's standards of course.

From a height standpoint Zo was a PF or a small center who played way above his size (height). And Zo had to build his body to that weight. Remember as a rookie dude barely looked like KG looks now..almost frail. So he had to build his body into a Center's frame despite the height difference.''

When i think of a prototype PF the few players who's bodies come to mind were:
  • Webber
  • Othis Thorpe
  • P.J. Brown (when he put on weight with the Heat)

When i think of a prototype Centers the few players who's bodies come to mind were:
  • Ewing
  • Rasheed Wallace (who actually played PF)
  • Duncan (ditto)

I guess i'm stuck in my way of thinking but unless you are 6'11 i tend to see you as C no matter what you play but based on your skill set you can move around since Centers are typically the LEAST skilled position :manny:

Zo never was a frail dude and he was heavier his first year then kg is now

kareem

:what: :what: :what:

Garnett's only played the 5 these past two seasons, and his game isn't remotely close to that of a center
