I kind of think OKC keeps him, although I agree they should trade him.

I personally think OKC is okay with being a "playoff/1st round exit" treadmill team, because they still sell out. This is a business after all. A product that can put fans in the seats is important. Yeah they aren't a championship caliber team, but most teams aren't anyway.

There would be a lot empty seats if they did a rebuild. They might just keep the treadmill going like they've BEEN doing for YEARS.
OKC has cheap owners they not trying to be paying Russ and Adams all that money to scrape into the playoffs for first round exits.

Think about what you're saying.

These are cheap owners. They have the appropriate expectations. As long as they continue to generate revenue from ticket sales, luxury suites, merchandise, etc they are fine.

I'd like to see Russ in Orlando.

Although I have no idea what they'd give up to match salaries.

Bamba, fultz, fournier, and frazier for russ works in the nba trade machine :mjlit:

Orlando can do Bamba, Fournier, Mozgov's expiring (18m) and a first for Russ. OKC's not gonna get a kings ransom for him.. that contract it just ... :scust:

If they were fine with being a 1st round exit Steven Adams wouldn't be available in trade, let alone PG. If Bennet not wanting to pay the tax is true then it goes against everything you've said.

You have to talk about the circumstances that lead to the treadmill to get the full picture, they couldn't lose Westbrook after just losing Durant. This time it's different because you just re-signed a guy and he still demanded out. A rebuild is the only option but then you still have to deal with the fact that you're in Oklahoma.

Nobody's watching a lottery team and that's what they are with Westbrook/Adams or not, keeping them means you're paying over 200 mil for pick 5 in the next couple of drafts.

Mind giving us a rundown of who you CAN win with not named Lebron, Kawhi, or the 73 win Warriors?
Dudes who got out of the 1st round like Lillard, McCollum, Harden, CP3, Giannis, Middleton, Brogden, Embiid, Simmons, Butler, Kyrie, Jokic, Siakam

I truly believe most franchise are fine never winning a title. They’re ok with just going to the playoffs every year
