Cant lie you're right :patrice:

On one hand at least they said something. On the other they didn't stick their necks out half as much as the football players did here. Even that town hall was safe as hell :patrice:

Sigh,

Let's consider the possibility that them speaking up at the ESPYs (among many of other things) helped spark Colin and some of the other athletes to make statements.... Stop this nonsense where we blame them, they are all a part of this, and all raising awareness to help be a PART of a solution. No athlete, entertainer, black or white person can fix this by themselves.

they have a platform and people will listen to them, but as long as their playing ball for masa and making more money it's supposed to be ok :camby:

Yup.. just like every living breathing nikka has their own mini to major platform themselves.... but y'all don't wanna affect change for real....hence you live vicariously through celebrities... and then got the nerve to sit behind a keyboard and judge, knowing good and damn well y'all ain't never stood up for shyt in your life

its clear none of those guys have as deep an understanding of whats wrong in this country as Kaep has. they won't ever give a press conference with the statements he made.

I partly agree but to expand...I think Lebron does realize, however he's building up the community in his own way. He's thinking long term and to take a stand like Kaep would seriously damage his brand. Look at Tiger Woods, he was well on his way to a billion, but one marriage scandal and it all got fukked up. Imagine what would happen to Bron if he sat down for the anthem? He wants to be an owner one day like MJ, which is a respectable goal in its own right and one he should stay focused on. Different battles for different people.

You're trying too hard, both Carmelo and LeBron have either spoken about or donated time and money to Black causes before this, especially Lebron.

Tiger's problem was not that scandal. Tiger not being good at golf anymore is what fukked him up. if he was still just as good as he used to be, he'd be fine.

:LeBron is not going to wake up tomorrow and not be a great player.

I hate that people are putting all these athletes, refreshing their Google pages or ESPN pages, waiting for these athletes to make a statement that aligns perfectly with their views. And when these statements don't come, or aren't worded to one's likings, we turn on them with the quickness. In all honesty, LeBron, Melo, and CP3 have probably done more for the black community than many of us will accomplish in a life time. So at this point, I believe we shouldn't be pressuring these athletes to this or do that rather than pressure the other side of this discussion to stop attempting to sweep this under the rug and to engage in an actual discussion about the problem. That's what all the protests are for, aren't they? I'm sure most black people are aware of the social injustices, but as long as white people still believe this fairy tail that we live in a post racial America and aren't willing to discuss this topic, are we really ever going to get anywhere?

Lebron doesn't have to speak about every issue, but I'll never understand him acting clueless when asked about Tamir Rice.

Kid was killed right there in Cleveland and he had nothing to say.

I think its better if these things are unique and organic. Just cuz Kaep sits out of the anthem doesn't mean everybody needs to. Let Bron and Melo do their corporate thuggin and let Kaep handle his hotep business. There are many lanes...

So Even The People Who Speak Out Are Being shytted On And Criticized Huh?
Cosign your sentiments.

As fukked up and irrational as an anonymous forum can be...:snoop:

This has to be a real low point for me.

We have individuals, who aren't gods, maturing into a brave intellectual space and speaking out on National issues that are decaying this Society yet people are still able to find a irreconcilable fault with them.

Individuals really need to take a step back from the Hollywoodized version of history.

NO ONE AGREES COMPLETELY. Even in the social/political movements that we hold so high on a pedestal, they disagreed, had different views and were on various locations on the soft line -----hardline spectrum.

If anyone is looking for political leaders that agree w/ them 100% or that do everything with perfect and aligned motivation with all of their followers will be waiting as the titanic hits the fukking iceberg while people argue which glove on which hand at which angle is the RIGHT way to grab the steering wheel to move the ship. :why:

The Black Panther party was broken up because of irreconcilable differences on approach. There was clearly Government infiltration but the point is, the Government KNEW they could attack the weakness of irreconcilable differences.

We're sitting here asking these men and women to do all of this extra shyt...that's cool. But you know what we, as regular Black people could do?

I am not even going to ask for yall to go out and do something public as them. All I'll ask is for yall to consider and try have understanding and be amenable to working towards some goal where there could be common ground instead of seeing one fault/difference that pretty much turns into a coup de grâce for a Black Power movement.

They need to just :whoa: on the useless criticism and do shyt themselves while offering support.

Lebron could come out tmr and say fukk the flag and not a goddamn thing would happen to him. It's not like the cavs will release or suspend him.

All Dan Gilbert will say is

"Look we love and respect lebron for what he's done for out team and community I personally disagree with him but that's his right to have his opinion"
