depends on the sport, the age and the parents. in individual sports, i think you have more leeway. i think there is a line when things get way too personal and not at all focused on improvement, but thats about it. at some point, you can be harsh all you want but if you dont know your players then you are being a bad coach to not switch it up a little if they stop responding and dont want to play for you anymore.
