:heh: yeah, working hard hours just to feed yourself and put a roof over your head is ideal.

:beli: I'm not sure if you're trolling me here or not, but c'mon. Working to make money to buy food and shelter is way better than having to hunt food and find/build shelter.

no, no, you're clearly right. whites have created a much superior system w/banks, corps, and greedy politicians using us for near slave labor. indians are def in a better position now then before cacs touched down.

Well for all who agree with him, what's stopping you from living that way? There are plenty of places in the world(and in the US) that the evil cac civilization hasn't yet touched, you know.

Why shoot the breeze about it, when you can be about it?:ld:

I didn't say any of that. The (probably false) quote in the original post is equating a patriarchal hunter/gather society with paradise and it is complete bullshyt. It wasn't a good life. People lived short, terrible lives. Reminiscing about how good things were before modernity happened is wrong, lazy and stupid 99.99999% of the time.

Keep in mind however that when the whites originally came, they weren't particularly that much more advanced than the Native Americans. Both societies were "pre-modernity".

In fact, you could make the case that the European societies were *considerably* LESS advanced...considering their reliance on slave labor.

The "injuns" probably would have been considerably better off without European interference.

Lets see who gets a home first with you working a decade to buy one vs Chief Thunder and his tribe building one from scratch with virtually unlimited free supplies.
I'm just saying:manny:

With pleasure. Go to goole, type "places untouched by civilization", and enjoy.

Oh you've been to multiple reservations? That's nice. Have you killed a wild animal with bow and arrow, skinned it, cleaned and cooked it on a spit? Have you made your own tools and clothes? Have you killed a man in hand to hand combat? Have you slept outside at the mercy of the elements during a hunting expedition? Have you slept in tents during the winter? Have you chopped your own firewood?

Because those are all the things that sound great and adventurous and manly when you're thinking about it from the comfort of your home. I get that. I hunt myself(with firearms though, I'm not manly enough for the bow). Those things sound nice as long as you only have to do them for a week or two, just enough to "feel alive".

Once the novelty wears off though...
