someone called him top 15 all time with a title

I’m high on Chris Paul as an all time great but that is silly.

It would be a reach. I can see top-20 right on the edge but no lower.

This is an awful take I’m sorry but wtf
That one wasn't even worth discussing. Anyone who thinks there have been 70 NBA players as good as Chris Paul probably doesn't even know the rules of the game of basketball.

I don't think CP3 is the leader of Phoenix. They went 8-0 in the bubble and Ayton was suspended the first 25 games last season. He's a good role player at this point.

Unless you’re sitting down and mapping out the top 50 or so players this doesn’t make sense .

As for PGs:

1.Magic
2.Steph
3.Zeke
4.CP3
5.Stockton

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
If he wins this year then the only PGs who clearly done more are Magic and Steph. If you talking about what he's "done" in the playoffs then he'd be in the same tier as Walt and Isiah and in terms of skills and regular-season play and accolades he's above both.

Not that many of the great PGs all-time have taken over games like that though. He definitely already had done it way more than Stockton, Nash, Payton and Kidd, and with this postseason IT too now.

Don't know who jumped CP3 "20 spots" but he's laid down epic results regardless of who was healthy.

37-3-7 with 2 steals on 14-19 shooting with clutch 4th to close out the Nuggets

41-4-8 with 3 steals on 16-24 shooting to close out the Clippers

32-4-9 and 1 steal on 12-19 shooting to open up 1-0 in the Finals on the Bucks

I always point out that Chris Paul has had some great clutch playoff games in the past (Mavs Game 7 in 2008, Spurs Game 7 in 2015, Jazz Games 4-5 in 2018), but this postseason almost doubled his big-game resume. I can see someone who was undervaluing CP3 before using this run to put him over Stockton, IT, Pippen, Admiral, Dominique, Frazier, Kawhi, Pierce, Ewing, Nash, Kidd, Drexler, Pettit, Harden, Havlicek.....maybe even Baylor and Barkley.

There's no way you ranking 40+ guys ahead of CP3. Look at the resume in OP again, there ain't anywhere near 40-50 guys in the NBA who have done that and skill-wise he top-10 all-time.

I believe we may have touched on this in the past at some point, but remind me why you exclude Oscar and Jerry from your point guard conversations?

Obviously, in their generation the terms "point guard" and "shooting guard" weren't in the basketball lexicon, but the functionalities of point guard responsibility have always been the same. O and West were point guards, and its easy to go thru their rosters and name the "off guards" next to them...

The fact that they are consistently excluded from point conversations is annoying to me. If they are rightfully viewed as points there's no doubt they are two if the Top 5 ever still, almost 50 years post-retirement. As it concerns Chris Paul, I definitely don't think there's this massive gap from them to him; but the aforementioned two had remarkable careers themselves and shouldn't be so crassly overlooked when we talk about where Paul sits...

To the rest of your post, most people already had Paul over Harden and Nash and a good amount had him over Kawhi too, but I can't justify him over Pettit at all, a guy who was Top 5 dominant his entire career...

Now this is a silly take:rudy:

He was top 10 in MVP voting...

If you replace him with Cam Payne, they are a 6th-8th seed type team

Top 30

PGs ahead of him alone for me

1. magic
2. Zeke
3. Curry
4. Oscar
5. Walt Frazier
6. Jason Kidd

How is Kidd ahead of CP3? Kidd had a spark when he started but hes pretty overrated. CP had a way better career easily.
