Where would Iverson rank among guards if he played today?

Volume shooters nowadays seem like an old wives tale :mjlol:

INEFFECIENT volume shooters, AI would be out the league :dead:

Bruh this is a no handcheck league. Who in today’s league is gonna check one of the all time fastest guys with all time handles and finishing ability? His percentages would be way up. This nikka was also a great passer too, he would be a monster today.

He's Russell Westbrook.

Except 4-5 inches shorter, and about 40-50lbs lighter.

With a worse shot selection.

If he played for your team you would hate his ass by the trade deadline.

He was perfect for that era. He wouldn't flourish today.

IT was top 5 in MVP voting in this era, the fukk are you nikkas talmbout.

He's a better passer than Westbrook and would take better shots with better teams than he had for the bulk of his career.

It's a more team defense-oriented league now, of course 1 on 1 no one can contain him.

If he played today he wouldn't be considered that good...

He came up in wannabe Jordan era...where every star player basically iso'd and thru up 25 shots a game...if you could put up 26 points with 26 shots...you was considered a good player back then...

Iverson pretty much failed due to his style of play...he ran off Larry Hughes, Jerry Stackhouse...

He dragged a crappy 76ers team in the crappy East...and after that he was nothing but a first round or 2nd round knock out...

Went to the Nuggets and he was shipped out after 2 seasons...he actually put up decent stats his first year...probably should've learned how to play with another offensive star earlier in his career instead of ball hogging...

His stats are bad...

He played 42 mins a game to put up the numbers he got...while guys like Curry put up the same numbers in 32 mins, guys like Lillard putting up the same numbers in 36 mins...

AI was the epitome of a volume scorer. Guys like Lillard, Curry, Harden blow him out of the water.

Allen Iverson is more of a cultural icon than a good basketball player...favorite player of all time...one of the most talented players to ever play...but a good basketball player?

Nah...

Chauncey Billups was a better player than Iverson....
Westbrook won mvp in this era shooting 42% with a shot selection similar to AI, and is considered a top 5 PG. of course there’s much more to Westbrook than AI, but to say terrible shooting would be a negative to him in this eraisn’t entirely true.

so a score first pg would do worse in the current era that's MADE for score first pg's? Aight then :dead:

wassup with this allen iverson hate though? Was your pops a cop or something back in the days? Young Ryan, don't you dare to watch those thugs playing basketball :damn:

fukkin kyrie irving was iverson wannabe when he got drafted now he one of the top point guards but muthafukkas acting like iverson wouldnt adapt to this era. He played most of his career for larry brown and george karl, two of the worst coaches of all time. Like right now you won't find a worse coach in the league than those two.

Hmm...

Chauncey Billups kicked Allen Iverson's ass in the East...

Went West, replaced Iverson and took the Nuggets further than Iverson did...

Chauncey Billups actually led his teams past the 1st and 2nd round consistently...

Iverson didn't...Iverson was a career loser and it was all his fault because he didn't know how to play with others...

Man could've had Larry Hughes, Jerry Stackhouse...

You know you are a shytty team player when your management is getting lottery picks and trading them for motherfukkers like Toni Kukoc cause they know you can't play with anybody with any sort of offensive talent..

Actually the only success AI ever had was in 2000-2001...when he was allowed to just throw up shots

I would take Billups over Iverson...he was 10x smarter than AI was, a way better shooter than AI was, and the man could lead a team....

Billups actually was the best point guard in the early 2000s

A consistent highly efficient 18 pt scorer that could guard 1 thru 2, shoot the three and didn't fukk shyt up...and most importantly...won shyt...

First of all Billups never kicked ai’s ass the pistons beat the sixers in 03 because they had a better team by the way Chauncey shot like 36% from the field in that series

You bring up efficiency but ignore how inefficient Billups was, he shot last than 39% during the chip season and for his career he has a lower fg % than AI

Billups was nice but at no point was he as good as kidd so kill that best point guard shyt

Ai was drafted to a shytty franchise and helped them improve every single season for the first 5 years eventually getting to the finals and handing the lakers their only loss of the postseason

Was ai perfect of course not, but he was better than Chauncey hands down

Lol Iverson and Billups switched teams... Pistons tanked and Nuggets became a contender.

If that doesn’t shed light on the debate nothing else will.

When ai was with the nuggets they played la and San Antonio in the first round compared to Billups playing against Utah and Dallas to get to the conference finals Which were much easier matchups

The next two years the nuggets got bounced in the first round they weren’t no damn contenders

Breh said Chancey was "highly efficient" but was shooting 40-42% every year and 39% the title year. And people dapped him too :dead:

Exactly dudes just talking out their ass
Nash,Cp3,Dwill those dudes were efficient but Chauncey really nikka:mjlol:dont get me wrong he had a nice 3 but he was never the benchmark for efficiency
I’m a Chauncey fan but I’m not gonna rewrite history

He even said he was the best point guard of he early 00’s:snoop: what argument could you possibly make for Chauncey over Kidd

These dudes don’t know hoops
