Where would Iverson rank among guards if he played today?

IT was top 5 in MVP voting in this era, the fukk are you nikkas talmbout.

He's a better passer than Westbrook and would take better shots with better teams than he had for the bulk of his career.
IT was an MVP candidate in Brad Stevens' system and has been an afterthought everywhere else he's played. So yeah maybe AI would be an MVP if Brad Stevens was coaching him.

That's what EVERYBODY said when he went to Denver...that all the talent around him would allow him to be more successful....and then...:comeon:

He's a gunner breh. He's ball dominant and he wants to shoot 30 times a game. He has never given a fukk who is on his team, he wants to shoot. He was not a point guard, he was a SHOOTING guard:ufdup:

He admitted this himself when he chose to retire rather than NOT be the 1st option taking 30 shots a game:francis:

IT wouldn't had been shyt if he had played in Iversons era, the rule changes allowed him to be an mvp candidate along with the system he played in

If IT could do what he did I could just imagine what AI would do, Iverson would beast close and mid range. He'd probably be a better 3 point shooter because I think he'd be practicing it more at a younger age. He'd probably shoot 15 free throw shots a game

This shyts really getting old with c00ns and cacs ruining all these threads :francis:

Kinda like Kyrie or the previous MVP of the league, no shyt Sherlock.

What in the fukk makes you think he couldn't have that kind of success in this league? Because they started running zones to STOP nikkas like him from eating?

Bruh this is a no handcheck league. Who in today’s league is gonna check one of the all time fastest guys with all time handles and finishing ability? His percentages would be way up. This nikka was also a great passer too, he would be a monster today.

Hand check wasn't that important. The most important thing was the banning of zone defenses...

The defensive schemes these days are way better.

His percentages wouldn't be up...

If u can’t handcheck and physically beat him up. How do u keep him out of the lane? He’s going to shred your defense easy. And son could actually shoot the ball, he’d be getting way more easier looks.

Only thing these “sophisticated” defenses would be able to do is get the ball out of his hands

THIS.

IT 5'6 150lbs, yet 13 year olds love to shyt on previous eras.

If Isaiah Thomas is your bar for A.I. then YOU are the one who is shytting on previous eras:mjlol:

I.T. has accomplished nothing in the NBA.

A.I., much like IT, would constantly have his man be the screener and be ruthlessly attacked in PnR.

He would be a less efficient, less athletic Russ who is a defensive liability.

Kinda like Kyrie or the previous MVP of the league, no shyt Sherlock.

1. The zone was implemented so that teams could simultaneously have someone play post defense AND someone deny the entry pass to one man. Shaquille O'Neal. Period.

A.I. wasn't winning a damn thing, so why would they come up with a rule to "stop him from eating?":russ:

2. Kyrie Irving is 4-5 inches taller and a MUCH better shooter than A.I. Stephen Curry is the same height as Kyrie and an even better shooter. There is a 0% chance than Allen Iverson could have enough impact to win MVP in 2018. He would be gameplanned into oblivion.

2011 Derrick Rose is AI on super steroids and people STILL argue that he didn't deserve that MVP:usure:

Iverson was MUCH better than IT and IT, when playing within a system that covered up his weaknesses, thrived.

On my mama I wish we was having this discussion face to face so I could slap the shyt out some of y’all :hhh:
Kyrie “Ivo Jr.” arguably a top 5 pg but iverson wouldn’t eat in a far less physical era?
Stop it
2 questions...and I want a serious answer.

1. How do you stop teams from going after him in the Pick & Roll every time down the court the same way teams do I.T.?

2. How does he adjust to teams sagging way off of him and funneling him to the help defense if he can't make them play honest by being a good 3 point shooter?

Iverson was MUCH better than IT and IT, when playing within a system that covered up his weaknesses, thrived.

But I.T. is a MUCH better outside shooter...meaning you have to play him honest from 3 which opens up his drive AND he has shown to me a much more willing passer than A.I. was.

And even then he still gets obliterated on defense if you don't have Avery Bradley to guard his man and a rim protector behind him.

A.I. would be food on defense and would have to become a 35-38% 3 point shooter (on more than 1 attempt a game like he averaged in Denver) OVERNIGHT or else you just sag off and funnel him to the help. Yeah he might get 25 but it will be on 20 shots, and that is FAR from MVP numbers.

1. Ivo wasn’t a defensive sieve like IT, he wasn’t a great defender by any margin but it’s not like that’s a priority in today’s NBA
Out of the top 5 pg’s only Wall and CP3 doing anything on that side
A capable coach would just hide him for bad matchups like Kerr hid Curry from Kyrie

2. How does tf does Westbrook do it:aicmon:
Y’all stay acting like you need to be an elite 3 point shooter to be a factor in today’s NBA
He an elite slasher, aggressive finisher at the rim, and his mid range pull up game was crazy
And he was a capable 3 point shooter, you can’t just leave him wide open, his poor shot selection is what deflated his percentages

AI was highly durable, fearless, trust worthy in tight situations and I can’t recall anybody staying in front of him
