When will nikkaz into being rap fans get it.
You may not be a bboy, breh.
You just like rap music but you not into the actual culture of hip hop.
America is not into hip hop like that.
It was just expert marketing from Leo Burnett from 96-2006, used effectively.

A whole horde of you rap fans, are just fukk'n fans...
You are not actually into and not a part of hip hop.
what do you feel someone has to do to BE HIP HOP ?

Universal? As in undisputed? Illmatic, Cuban Linx, The Chronic, Doggystyle, & 7 Day Theory are among the ones that don't really get argued against. The term just gets thrown around so loosely & it really is subjective....

Take bolded off and we good. Dont see it mentioned at all especially "globally" except here on the net, home of the nuthuggers. But i guess it's an "automatic classic" cuz
it's the last album he did. Smh.

horrible choices for a "global" classic thread. should have had things like All Eyez On Me, Doggystyle, E 1999, 36 Chambers, one of the Jurassic 5 albums they tend to be big for some reason down here at least (Ozomatli was huge down here), anything directly related to NWA or Death Row. it depends on if you're talking about heads around the world or albums that made it big and are still classic to the average or new Hip Hop fan.

Actually take part in the real culture of hip hop.
Not MTV prison economy gateway industrial complex rap.
Plus, actually help protect it and engage and learn the social movement of the culture.
Which, is completely juxtaposed from this capitalist brand of bullshyt we are marketed now.

dont know about global.

as for national, theres only 5 that i can take from that list as classics that are recognized on the national scale:
nas - illmatic
mobb deep - infamous
raekwon - ob4cl
master p - ice cream man
geto boys - we cant be stopped

thug life can get play everywhere but i dont know about it being a classic.

the rest of this stuff is either regional or niche, regardless of my personal opinions.
