Glad you were only giving these bad choices in order to prove a point:heh:

I'd say alot of these were regional classics that went on to become national classics.

You are correct:wow:,but one thing I will say is that all across the nation you have fans who consider themselves "backpackers",most of them pretty much practice group think and just accept everything classic that they've been told is classic over the years...Those albums that that hiphop nerds and media have proclaimed to be classics, which tend to be east coast albums:manny:.

So nationally you can always find people who will think these east coast regional classics were national classics, because theeres some backpackers everywhere that will cosign they were listening to it in the south,or out west, but to me that doesn't make it not a regional album:mjlol:..

Alotta that fanbase is nikkas thats fans of east coast rap who listened to everything that came out the east, and just happened to grow up in the wrong region,ya vote don't count on wether or not a album is regional or not:pachaha:

Post where he said they were nationwide classics. Since that's the question you posed in this thread.
I will post the back story that comes from

But you didnt answer the question.
@SirBiatch Prove me wrong, same question to you

"Name me an non east coast (or east coast catered) album that's not commercially successful, that gets called CLASSIC on this board like an illmatic or OB4CL"

@I.AM.PIFF responded with the following
Well, I don't get your point about sales. You talked about inflated props which refers to reception & critical acclaim, rather than commercial performance (which doesn't always mean the Album is a classic). Illmatic went plat and according to Soundscan, OB4CL sold more than a mill. Not to mention both albums received huge critical acclaim and props since day 1, so I don't see how they get inflated props on the coli. You could've mentionned better examples really.

Goodie Mob - Soul Food
Common - Resurrection
Spice 1 - 187 He Wrote
UGK - Ridin' Dirty
Geto Boys - We can't be Stopped

These albums weren't anymore commercially performant than Illmatic/OB4CL but they've been regarded as classics. You could also add 8Ball & MJG - Comin' Out Hard & The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde as well

ThE ALBUMS he NAMED were directly a response to "Name me an non east coast (or east coast catered) album that's not commercially successful, that gets called CLASSIC on this board like an illmatic or OB4CL"

Both of which are considerd nationwide classics ON THIS BOARD.
Understood?

I did a poll to prove to him those albums he named would not get anywhere near the praise them east coast albums got. I was proven accurate,THE END

I didn't say they were regarded on the same pedestal. I only brought up Illmatic/OB4CL because you did and said they get inflated props on the coli (which is wrong). I've alread spoke on this multiple times already. The albums I named didn't sell a ton but received plenty of acclaim and have been alled clasics. Not on the same level as Illmatic/OB4CL tho (which I already aknowledged). Your bias is pretty clear and I don't really wish to go back and forth on shyt already discussed... :snoop:

THEN U SHOULD HAVE NAME CHECKED ONES YOU THOUGHT WERE ON THAT LEVEL,SINCE THAT'S WHAT I SPECIFICALLY ASKED YOU.
Further more, when i asked if you were going to vote, you said i was "You tryna put our boy on that Colislam screen huh" :mjpls:

What are you implying here? Are you implying an exposal? That's what the summerjam screen was.
Why would you be getting exposed? Cause i proved you wrong?

You left out that this was @I.AM.PIFF first response to your question
Really? :why:

You're gonna mention Illmatic & OB4CL breh :mindblown:
Right from the jump he told you it was stupid to put up Illmatic and OBFCL as examples.

Again, this thread does not prove your point.

Make the thread with The albums I suggested.

You've completely misstated his position.
Make the thread I suggested. I'm interested to see if you have a point.
no,he did. He knew that I was going after Illmatic and OB4CL and be chose albums he thought fitted in the conversation. No error on big bad' s part

I think you're making the opposite point of what you were trying to make.
So East Coast hip hop had fans nationwide. That would explain why you had guys like Hiero in Oakland, Likwit Crew in LA, Common in Chi, even Outkastbb

Yeah, its a fanbase of people who make sure to check for whatever is getting hype out of the east.....so my point is those peoples votes dont count on what a national classic, since they taste already lean towards east.....that defeats the whole organicness of albums that become national classics:wow:

When a album thats made for west coast ears is embraced by another region that typically dont check for west coast music or that sound and vice versa, thats when a album has crossed barriers and become a true national classic:mjcry:

how is a albun made for east coast ears, thats only embraced by nikkas from other regions who check for east coast albums considered a national classic:childplease:

If it had no cross region appeal, crossed no regional barriers upon its release I reject it:sas1:
