50 don't need shyt. Didn't they say he just performed in front of 40,000 where he got arrested?

Lil Wayne, TI, Jeezy are all certified legends.

Gucci never needed a hit. Wasted not even his most played club song. You play I think I love her and the club going crazy,

Thug is still doing good and can sell out shows still. He prolly goin need a hit soon however.

RHQ probably needs a hit the most. He's had multiple hit songs but I don't think ppl have caught onto his brand as an artist.

when you become an establish brand and making a hit isn't the goal, making music to sustain the brand is the only goal. Music is probably 1/4 of the brand y'all really need to reevaluate what is happening. The new guys need hits to build a brand, the old guard just need to make their brand sustainable and keep the interest in them and their overall brand i.e. TV/Film, Music, Endorsements and more. The more you think a guy is washed, then he shows up at concerts and signings with 1000's of people, I laugh at these coli nikkas who think it's just about the music for the old guard.
I took it as OP was talking about music biz not outside ventures

Aint no sitting back and chilling in the rap game. That money goes fast.

It's about Money at the end of the day. Royalties aren't paying much if anything depending their contracts. And a lot of the money they made in the 2000s is gone. You don't retire in rap. You have to keep banging out hits, doing features, doing shows. You want to keep your name buzzing. Rap fans are so fickle, you have to stay hot. Only a few artist can pack a venue with only songs from the 90s and 2000s.

Quan for sure. Thug has a machine behind him, the others have industry connects to at least end up on someone else's hit song like Weezy on Loyal.

tbh i would put gucci in legend territory too, his children played a part in him staying relevant while locked up :manny:

Wayne, Gucci, TI and 50 don't need hits, their careers are already cemented and they will go down as legends

Jeezy? as a Gucci fan i don't follow dude so idk what he needs :yeshrug:

Thug and Quan both desperately need hits, their careers depend on it (especially RHQ)

Ignorance level on 10, that's all I got for you. Look at the artist he proposed and then I look at what the market allows, and then I see they are still prospering on the micro/macro level and beyond. A hit means nothing right now to the old guard. A sustaining presence is way more effective.

Wayne IMO.

nikka sold a million the first week off his last album (I don't count that IANAHB shyt as actual albums :scust:) but it's been five years and he can't get an album release :mjlol:

Yeah he's had guest features but he hasn't had any solo shyt that connected since Believe Me and that was mainly Drake.

they don't need to, he does numbers on tour
album sales are dead for people not named drake, Cole, Kendrick, big Sean etc and a couple others
doesn't equate to relevancy
dog...he on MULTIPLE 360'S...that nikka needs to generate some damn sales unless he wants to tour every day of the damn year :martin:
