Why would the old guard need music to sustain themselves? The pedigree is there, the audience is there. There is no need to bootstrap.
Relevancy in music breh. To stay relevant you usually need hits unless your are ingrained into the game

50 and the crazy shyt is he has put out songs the past 5-6 years that should have been surefire hits but just didn't. That blackballing shyt is definitely real in his case.

Ignorance level on 10, that's all I got for you. Look at the artist he proposed and then I look at what the market allows, and then I see they are still prospering on the micro/macro level and beyond. A hit means nothing right now to the old guard. A sustaining presence is way more effective.

this is ALL bullshyt :dahell: ain't no damn money in the rap game :beli: you want to use the music to get OTHER endeavors...ie movie, branding, label, deals. That's the stupidest shyt I seen in a LONG time :martin:

:mjlol: Keep believing rappers have all the money and things they rap about.

Nah, he's clearly being blackballed. These 3 tracks would've surely been top 20 hits with him not on it:

Then you got tracks like "Smoke" and "I'm the man" which should have KILLED the R&B charts and didn't

It sounds great and nostalgic to us, but we were around in the 2000s. These teenagers and early 20s cats aint trying to hear this.

Wayne's last hit was Believe Me with Drake

No matter what Wayne is a legend, his biggest handicap is the Cash Money fiasco. :snoop:

50 don't need a hit he's done will never be relevant musically no matter what he does, he's been peaked and can't adapt to the climate.

Gucci doesn't need a hit record just continue to feed the streets with tapes and put on artists like he's done in the past. He's about to have a mainstream breakthrough though I feel, I saw a commercial advertising his upcoming album on BET.

Jeezy is in a good place musically his last album was very solid. T.I. seems to also be in a good place musically his last single Dope produced by Dr. Dre was cool and he stays relevant through reality TV. Jeezy and T.I. are veterans with core fan bases.

Thug has a hit right now, it's called Digits. :ehh:

I'm going with Quan... :flabbynsick:
