LMAO @ per 36 minutes

Look Wade shot 65% in the conference finals against the pistons, then took over the nba finals. Kobe tortured dahntay jones in the WCF and trash bag courtney lee. :russ:

I did per 36 cause Wade averaged a lil more mpg than Kobe that year.

per game its still equivalent:

Kobe - 30.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 5.5 apg
Wade - 28.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 5.7 apg

and for the analytics nerds: 26.8 PER for Kobe vs. 26.9 PER for Wade

like I said. EQUIVALENT.

We kind of did though, Durant and Westbrook put up some monster playoffs numbers this year.

30/9/4/1/1 for Durant
28/8/7/2 for Westbrook

They just don't have the complimentary players around them (or the coaching)

They don't play defense like Shaq and Kobe either.

Wake.
Dirk. Like others have already said...it's the level of competition he went through. Plus Shaq had Kobe, Bron had Wade, Dirk had Terry. And Terry was definitely balling but still Kobe vs. Wade vs. Terry? Not even close who's the weakest sidekick of the 3.

Dirk wasn't doing it by himself though. He wasn't leading his team in every category and guarding the other teams best guy/shutting down the paint. His teammates stepped up and played better than themselves while players on those other teams, including a couple of those top 20 players, played like shells of themselves. Seriously Jason Terry outplayed Lebron fukking James in the Finals...that's not attributable to Dirk breh.
The same can be said for every player on the list because they all had help but Dirk just didn't have top 15 of all time kind of help.

We are talking about how the players individually played though. Dirk just doesn't stack up to some of the better individual performances we've seen. Everybody wants to ride with the movie narrative of Dirk leading his team past Kobe, Durant and Lebron but in reality Kobe wasn't Kobe, Bron wasn't Bron, and KD wasn't even KD yet and once again he had a team full of clutch vets itching to get a ring (sorta like D. Wade in 06 in that regard).

kobe was injured and a shell of himself. we all know what a prime Kobe did to dirk. 62 pts in 3 qtrs.
The same Kobe that won the championship the year before. That Laker team was the defending champions

The fact is that if Shaq doesn't play well they still had the 2nd greatest SG in history. If Bron doesn't play well, they still had the 3rd greatest of all time. The Mavs were Dirk or bust. He went through all the criticism about him being soft and unclutch. He didn't have the better team and the fact that he had to will his team to victory when Shaq and Bron didn't because they had the dominant team and could have won without them

Once again we are talking about what the players themselves did INDIVIDUALLY. They all had help, otherwise they wouldn't have won a championship and had an opportunity to be MVP. We are comparing what the individuals themselves did and there is no way you can tell me that Dirk did more than either of those guys en route to his ring just because you don't recognize as many names on his squad. We can't just be basic and say "Oh they won and there aren't any other stars on the team so it had to be all Dirk". You don't get extra points for having role players step up to help you and having great players play beneath themselves against you.

Just looking at stats....you would have to go with Shaq but watching Dirk was just :wow:

No one expected them to make it to the Finals....let alone win it.....dude was on fire....
