Chronic for me

Also if we are being fair..:patrice: The thread title says the THRILLER of Hip Hop.... That means a album that crossed over on a big scale. We will have to add MC Hammer. Love or hate him he sold a lot of albums and was a global star.

MC Hammer - Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em.

You guys are talking about critically acclaimed albums. MC Hammer was as big as Michael Jackson in the early 90s. He had kids wanting to wear baggy pants, sold out stadiums etc. Dude was the first rap artist to go diamond. He had the hood and soccer moms buying his album.

fukk are you nikkas talking about? It said “Thriller” of hip hop.

Off the list I voted for All Eyez On Me but when I saw the title of the thread the first album I thought of was Makaveli which might not have sold more than All Eyez On Me or Thriller but as time has gone on I feel like it is a masterpiece. Musically, lyrically and the subject matter as well.

This is probably going against the spirit of the thread but for me it’s Illmatic.

9 perfectly produced songs that each can stand on their own but meld together to make a perfect album.
