Time to talk about the clear elephant in the room...

2000: MMLP 10 Million sold
2001: D-12 2 Million sold
2002: Eminem Show 10 Million sold + 8 Mile soundtrack 5 Million sold + an Oscar

:sas2::mjpls:No love for Em Coli brehs?
Coli hates Em but logically he won it:yeshrug:

Being white shouldn't make his run any less. He still had a great run

Come take a journey through my mind's eye
You crossed the game, don't explain, nikka time to die, say goodbye
Watch my eyes when I pull the trigger
So right before you die you bow before a bigga nikka, now dry yo' eyes
You was HEARTLESS on yo' hits
nikkaz love to scream peace after they start some shyt
Pay attention, Here's a word to those that robbed me
I murder you then I, run a train on Mobb Deep! Don't fukk with me

nikka you're barely livin, don't you got sickle cell?
See me have a seizure on stage, you ain't feelin well, hell
How many nikkaz wanna be involved?
See I was only talkin to Biggie, but I'll kill all y'all!! :pacspit:

That doesn't count b/c it didn't surface until after Pac died. Mobb couldn't retaliate at that point, even if they wanted to, which I don't think they had any interest in doing.
The battle was basically a few statements (can't even call the rant at the end rapping, although it was legendary shyt talking) in the rant at the end of Hit Em Up. Then Mobb killed him with Drop A Gem on Em. Then he died for real. That was the end of the battle.

I mean if we're talking

Music Quality, Influence, Street Love, Mainstream Appeal, Sales, etc.

All of these, the answer to me is either Nelly.

A period of time, he had the influence with fashion, made dope music wuth St. Lunatics, sold a ton of records, the streets never hated him until that Kelly Rowland song, and he had main stream appeal.

The other obvious choice is Eminem, but to me, his albums aren't strong enough aside from his singles. Though come to think of it, I've never listened to a whole Nelly album, either.

Hmmm, the rabbit hole is deep :jbhmm:
