I know it's no longer the case but at one point it was Common...Almost to the point where it was kinda eerie..
Our dads were both hoopers and our moms were educators..
We both grew up around madness but always tried to maintain and promote peace..
Both went to HBCU's before dropping out....
Both of our best friends were murdered around the same age..
This song described my life almost to the very last detail after I dropped out of school and before I got back on track
This song also described a time of my life almost in eerie detail
Then eventually he met Erykah Badu went left, then he blew up started doing big hollywood movies and smashing Serena Williams and I could no longer relate as much

I feel you on Retrospective For Life, that is a deep and powerful song. Anybody who's been in a smilar situation or even had a scare can relate. And Book Of Life was DEEP too, one of my favourite Common songs, I fukked hard with This Is Me too.
