The state that gets dissed the most has to be New Jersey. "The Armpit of America" jokes go back at least 50 years.

As far as being ignored I feel like Wyoming gets no recognition. South Dakota has Mt. Rushmore, North Dakota had an acclaimed movie, Idaho has potatoes, Montana has a goat tier QB and fictional drug kingpin with the same name.

WTH does Wyoming have? Only thing I can remember them for is a guaranteed snowy football game every year.

It depends on what you mean by respect, usually you have to earn respect and most of those flyover/midwest states arent worth respecting. Midwest states are like the woat southern states except they have no history or minorities.

Having a decent football team kinda legitimizes the state. West Virginia is the most beautiful trashy looking place I've ever been to. Driving through is so scenic, until you actually get off the highway and then you realize you're in the meth lab capital of world.
