I'm fairly sure all cities have federal, state, and local taxes. Deductions are also a part of working in general.

no i was an analyst in CT. I worked for a company that had divisions all over the country and some in NY. Politicians basically passed a law. They didn't call it a tax but required companies to take out of employee paychecks as 'benefit deductions'.

Yeah, that happens everywhere. Healthcare plans, life insurance, etc. are all under the category of "benefit deductions."
