And it means they aren't even trying to compete which goes against the basis of a competitive sports league.I'm sure every team desires the first pick. The last thing a league needs is a bunch of teams acting on that desire. This ain't the NFL...you can get top players late in the first and in later rounds AND scheme, coaching, and depth >>>>> an individual transcendent talent in the NFL.

As a cavs fan I'm here to tell you that sometimes it doesn't matter where you pick but who you pick. Who are we to say if they are competing or not shyt I still see dudes hustling, shooting, playing defense what are teams supposed to do be continual treadmill teams.
The system sucks I will be the first to admit that. However that doesn't mean that sucky teams getting all the top players is gonna help anything. Teams like PHX, MEM, and DAL have a chance to break out of the treadmill and be true contenders if they can get the right guy at the top of the draft. Philly is likely gonna suck the next few years regardless.
While this is true teams like phx, mem, dal just have to make the right picks which they have a history of to a degree. Talent evaluation and free agency is where these teams are ahead...the suns can bring In a good free agent pickup none of those free agents would look Phillys way unless they are grossly overpaid.
Teams like miluwakee and Utah have to get there talent via the draft or overpaying...a team like Philly could land a free agent to go along with the high pick and be back into the playoffs within the next season or two.
Nobody is going to Memphis. Everybody passed on Dallas last year. PHX last FA splash was Nash a decade ago. Those teams have the edge in being run properly period. A top pick can take them to the next level. I respect their hustle in being competitive without a top player vs. just saying "fukk it let's just suck and get the top pick".
Yes a top pick could take them to the next level but it looks like they will get a middle round pick and make the most of it...I don't know why free agents keep passing on Dallas because Cuban has been trying,

The 14th pickWhich will most likely be the treadmill that's why I am hoping against hope they get lucky. I realize its unlikely but nothing would make me happier than one of them getting that top pick and Philly getting the 14th. I can dream.![]()
That's not even possible nikka

To be honest the 76ers, and bucks flat out suck...but let's not act like they haven't been treadmill teams in the past also let's not forget that the celtics and bulls and a few other teams have all had there "tank" periods...
In fact all teams except Indiana, San Antonio damn near have had a "tank year"
Are u sure about this? It's a known fact the Spurs Tanked to get Tim Duncan. They already had a playoff squad.

"One of the most notorious years for tanking was 1997. It’s widely believed that the San Antonio Spurs tanked the season by holding out David Robinson longer than necessary to secure a higher draft pick, which became the most coveted player available, Tim Duncan. In fact, to many, this is one of the most incredibly successful tank jobs in NBA history, in part because the Spurs were already a very good team, and they have won four titles and counting with Duncan leading the way. But to our knowledge, no one involved has admitted that the Spurs were tanking."
