:ohhh: Never knew there was an OG version of No Idea's Original. To be honest, never liked the Lost Tapes version.

Always preferred DOOM's remix to all of them. Beat went harder.

I fukked with that nastradoomus when they dropped but some of the songs, whoever mixed it couldn’t fit NAS onto the bwat properly. Nas has a weird flow tho when you listen acapella. kind of slightly ahead of the beat, sometimes off beat but not. I never knew this OG version was officially released I’ll have to find a circuit city version of the rip I’m sure it’s around somewhere.

I heard the OG version the first time on the Stillmatic Tour I was amazed.

That's dope that he performed it live. It was on my Stillmatic deluxe edition from Best Buy along with Everybody's Crazy.

The cool thing about the OG No Idea's Original to me is that there's more going on technically than the remix with the Barry White loop and the break beat that ended up on Lost Tapes. And if the OG version was all we knew it'd still be an incredible song. But something about the Lost Tapes version is just too raw.

:wow: listening to both versions now

Lost Tapes version (Cecil Holmes version of the Barry White song)

It's also a Cecil version of the Al Green for Rakim "It's Been A Long Time"

What about America:

The album version:

or the unreleased version with the sample?

I have to go with the original version. I hate the fact that when samples can't get cleared and artist remix the songs to release on the album. to me, the original always sounds better and its a big loss for the album. Just think how many of his other songs are really alternate versions because the sample from the original never cleared or cleared too late.

Wow ive never heard this before :ohhh:

I liked the album version when i first heard it but never came back to it. This version though :blessed:

I made an entire thread on the subject
